"You think I'm lying? Look it, I will turn him upside down right now and shake the cash out of him!"

A Plot: Worried about the scraggliness of his hair, Brent receives a cut from Karen. Emma is distraught by this and turns against Karen, as she's cut Brent's hair every time since he was a boy and now feels betrayed. Karen tries to alleviate Emma's anger.

B Plot: Lacey is pestering Hank to stain her deck, as she has already paid him for the job. Wanda, as "judge", intervenes on the dispute and rules in Hank's favor based on a lack of specifics on Lacey's side. Upset about this, Lacey devises a plan to turn it back on Hank. Meanwhile, Fitzy asks Wanda to take her judging skills in a different direction: pie tasting.

C Plot: The muffler on the Leroy car has been damaged to the point of causing an awful racket. When Davis tells Oscar to get it fixed, Oscar takes a stand, feeling that "The Man" shouldn't be able to push him around.

Tropes Referenced:

  • Catch-22 Dilemma: Davis takes Oscar's car keys, then tells him to take his car in to get his muffler fixed. Oscar then asks how he can take his car in without the keys.
  • Description Cut:
Oscar: There it is, a hole in the muffler. Musta happened when we hit that porcupine on the highway.
Emma: Porcupine? That was two years ago.
Oscar: Well, it still seems fresh to me. You don't get over something like that.
[Cut to the actual incident, where Oscar merely pokes the animal with a stick and walks away]
  • Does Not Like Spam: It's revealed that Wanda doesn't like pie, which gets her flak from the whole town.
Woman 1: How can somebody hate pie?!
    Man: It's just weird.
    Woman 2: It's unnatural!
Little Girl: [crying] The pie woman scared me.
  • Double Entendre: Karen is giving Brent a haircut in the gas station when Oscar and Emma come in:
    Emma: What's going on?
Brent: I'm just getting a little trim from Karen. ...I mean, Karen's cutting my hair.
  • Eagleland Osmosis: Lacey addresses impromptu judge Wanda as "Your Honour" during the latter's first case. Though flattered, Wanda promptly informs Lacey that judges in Canada are supposed to be addressed as "My Lord."
  • Eating Contest: What Wanda thinks the pie contest is at first.
  • The Generation Gap: When Oscar calls Davis "copper", the teenage boys who think he's cool because of the hole in his muffler whisper to him what they call police nowadays. Whatever it is, Oscar thinks it's rude and leaves.
  • Know-Nothing Know-It-All: Wanda fancies herself as a judge. Apparently taking one law class makes you an expert.
  • Left the Background Music On: Oscar's run-in with the police is suddenly accompanied by a Dukes of Hazzard-style music and narration. The camera pans to show the source as a guitar player named Jake, and Karen tells him to stop playing. He shows up again at the end of the episode, this time being threatened by Wanda.
Jake: Looks like it's time for ol' Jake to move on.
  • Loophole Abuse:
    • In order to force Hank into either finally staining her deck or giving her money back, Lacey uses a "prices subject to change without notice" trick to charge him $200 for his meal.
    • When Hank accidentally drips mustard on the Ruby's deck and Lacey tells him to clean it up before it leaves a stain, Wanda tries to argue that this technically constitutes "staining" the deck, and so Hank is off the hook. Subverted since Lacey isn't buying it and Hank no longer trusts Wanda because of her hatred of pie.
  • Momma's Boy:
Brent: Mom usually cuts my hair.
Wanda: Does she cut your meat for you too?
    Brent: No. (beat) Sometimes.
  • Pun-Based Title: Based on "here comes the judge", referencing both Wanda as a judge and Brent's haircut plot.
  • Running Gag: Brent using made-up words like "wuffy" and "rumplish" to describe how his hair was getting too long. Then later, Brent trying to convince people that his new haircut makes him look faster.
  • Serious Business: The pie contest. Apparently, when they tried to run one without a judge, there was a fist fight.
  • Sesquipedalian Loquaciousness:
Wanda: [to Lacey] You mean to say that you didn't stipulate finite terms; establish clear, unambiguous points of chronology, duties, and ultimately remuneration?
Hank: Nope, none of those words.
