The remains of a couple that were found in the foundation of a demolished building are identified as two hippies who vanished in the 1960's.
Tropes for the episode:
- Abortion Fallout Drama: Julia started working for an underground organization that helped women get safe abortions from qualified professionals when her friend became infertile from a botched abortion.
- Artistic License – History: While there was a Jane Collective that offered underground abortions, it operated in Chicago, not Philadelphia. Also, Adam was caught photographing Julia and Gerard working for Jane because he was an FBI informant. There was no federal law against abortion, therefore no reason for the FBI to tell Adam to gather information on Jane.
- Back-Alley Doctor: Julia’s friend got an abortion from one. It was botched, and she became infertile, motivating Julia to work for the underground abortion organization so it wouldn’t happen to other women.
- Finally Found the Body: Gerard and Julia were thought to have ran away together to Canada.
- Good Girls Avoid Abortion: Averted. The case involves two hippies helping girls get illegal abortions.
- He Knows Too Much: Julia and Gerard were killed because they found out their commune leader and face of their anti-war movement was actually a spy for the FBI.
