Recap / Code Prime - R2: Revolution, 30 "The United Federation of Nations"

Go To

After their victory against the Geass Order, the Grand Alliance set up the United Federation of Nations in preparation to strike back at the Decepticon Empire.

  • Artistic License – Biology: In-Universe. According to a dismissive Schneizel, some of his half-siblings have convinced themselves that they can repopulate humanity after Starscream destroys it by means of incest, their belief in "pureblood superiority" making them think that they can overcome the many problems that such a small gene pool would suffer from.
  • Breather Episode: Explicitly called this by Word of God, and for the most part things are rather light as the heroes celebrate their recent victories. Then Megatron makes a reappearance.
  • Cardboard Prison: It only took around a week for Soundwave and Shockwave to free Megatron.
  • The Elites Jump Ship: Upon being informed of Starscream's plan to wipe out humanity, the captive Brittanian royals immediately pledge loyalty in exchange for being spared and provided safe passage off of Earth when the Decepticons leave.
  • Final Solution: Schneizel and Starscream decide that, instead of using Damocles to cowl mankind into submission, they'll just wipe humanity out with it.
  • Held Gaze: Kallen and Lelouch have one after going over the plethora of good news and developments with the Decepticons' disarray and formation of the UFN. When an amnesiac Cera ask what she should do next, the pair, who are on cloud nine, absentmindedly suggest she sing and dance with her clothes inverted. Kallen and Lelouch break out of their trance when Cera verbally complies and the two quickly stop Cera as she began undressing.
  • Internal Reveal: Marianne reveals to her children that she's still alive in Anya’s body.
  • Let's You and Him Fight: Megatron reveals that he had been aware that Starscream and Schneizel were planning on betraying him, but for now, he's perfectly content to let them fight the United Federation of Nations, in the hopes that he can capture Cera in the confusion.
  • Mid-Season Upgrade: Thanks to the Forge of Solus Prime, a number of Knightmare Frames were given upgrades to prepare for the assault on the Decepticon Empire.
  • No Body Left Behind: When V.V. was extracted from Nemesis Prime, and was found to be dead due to Megatron taking his code from him, the Black Knights groundbridged his body to the center of the Earth in the hopes that the extreme temperatures would disintegrate his body... though given what exactly lies at the center of the Earth, this trope might not be in effect.
  • Relationship Upgrade: After being implied during the Iacon Relic hunt, it's confirmed here that Lelouch and Kallen have more or less started a romantic relationship.
  • The Reveal:
    • Misty Ix is revealed to be a clone created from Marianne and Cera's DNA.
    • Shockwave reveals that he had been building a replica thought elevator that V.V. wasn’t aware of, and he and Soundwave used it to rescue Megatron.
  • Something Only They Would Say: Marianne proves her identity by sharing a story about Lelouch, Nunnally, and Euphemia that no one else could possibly know.
  • Throwing Off the Disability:
    • Nunnally no longer needs the metal braces to be able to walk again.
    • Thanks to the Forge of Solus Prime, Bumblebee can now speak again.
  • Wham Episode: After the majority of the chapter appears to be a Breather Episode, the ending has Megatron suddenly return, having been freed from the Shadowzone by Soundwave and Shockwave using an artificial Thought Elevator. Worse, it's confirmed that he stole V.V.'s Code, making him immortal and just needing Cera's Code to enact Neo-Ragnarök.
