In preparation for fighting the Galra, the Paladins begin training. It's not as easy as they expected.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: When the Paladins end up seeing some of Lelouch's Dark and Troubled Past via their mental bonding (specifically, the day his mother was found murdered in the Aries Villa), Lelouch is incredibly enraged and understandably refuses to explain about the situation. As most of the student council have known him only as The Stoic, it's extremely jarring for them, to say the least. Only Milly and Suzaku show any understanding, since both know the truth.
- Smart People Play Chess: One of the new scenes in this chapter has Lelouch play a chess match against Coran. Coran does surprisingly well, but Lelouch still bests him with while only losing a bishop and three pawns.
- What the Hell, Hero?: Kallen calls out Allura when she is less than impressed with the Paladins' combat skills, pointing out that Lelouch doesn't even have a weapon.
