Tropes

  • Both Sides Have a Point: Billie is of course right in that the sisters' priority should be to save the innocents that the demons are going after. Piper however does have a point in that Agent Murphy is watching them, and if they're exposed, it risks them being unable to help any innocents in the future.
  • Call-Back:
    • The episode title is a call back to Season 3's "Pre-Witched", both based on a pun about Bewitched. The former was a flashback about the sisters' lives before they were witches.
    • This is the second time magic has been revealed to Phoebe's boyfriend, who then faints. Unlike "Used Karma" though, Phoebe does it willingly this time.
  • Didn't Think This Through: Billie casts a spell "to make a lover's dream come true", hoping it'll help Phoebe. Needless to say, she goes Oh, Crap! when she discovers it made her and Dex get married.
  • Intimate Open Shirt: Dex's shirt can be seen like this after Billie talks to Phoebe at night, implying she interrupted them in the middle of it.
  • Lame Pun Reaction: Paige has to deal with two speed daters making really bad puns in their pick-up lines.
"Was your father a thief? Because he stole the stars and put them in your eyes."
"If I could rearrange the alphabet, U and I would be together."
  • Men Are the Expendable Gender: Inverted. The two innocents that Billie saves are male, while the only one that dies is female.
  • No Good Deed Goes Unpunished: Invoked by Antosis. He preys on Good Samaritans, who are lured to their deaths when they offer to help people in danger.
  • No Romantic Resolution: The boy Paige is about to hook up with at the club will not appear again. Paige can't approach him out of fear of exposure, and probably because she didn't get any contact details either.
  • Rule of Three: Paige has to go on three speed dates. The third one is of course the one she makes a connection with.
  • Speed Dating: P3 is hosting a speed dating event that gets them coverage in 415 magazine. Paige takes part and starts to hit it off with a guy before a "family emergency" pulls her away.
  • Suspiciously Similar Substitute: The Charmed Ones offer to provide help to Agent Murphy. This effectively makes him a substitute for Darryl in the few episodes where he appears.
  • Take a Third Option: The sisters can either do nothing and let the demons continue to hurt innocents, or go out and vanquish them to risk exposure. Billie comes up with a third option - lure the demon to the house so they can use the Power of Three without anyone seeing.
  • Wasn't That Fun?: After seeing the sisters vanquish Antosis, Billie Squees "I want to learn how to do that!"
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Billie calls the sisters on how they're more concerned with keeping their cover than helping innocents.
