The deputy mayor is murdered at a charity event Stella is attending on a date. Suspicion quickly falls on an arrogant newspaper publisher named Robert Dunbrook. Meanwhile, the "Blue Flu" has law enforcement very short-handed.

- Big Guy Rodeo: The man is killed when someone much smaller than himself jumps on his back and strangles him.
- Kicking Ass in All Her Finery: Stella wears a Little Black Dress to the event and begins processing the evidence while wearing it before Mac brings her a jumpsuit from the Lab to change into.
- Little Black Dress: Stella's dress is quite revealing. Her date is quite impressed.
- Playing Sick: Danny comes down with the "Blue Flu." His co-workers are not fooled.
- Soup Is Medicine: Danny leaves a crime scene claiming to be sick. Later, Stella visits him at home and takes him some chicken soup. After letting her in, he fesses up that he's not really ill.
