Having lost Thug Finals of the last episode, it's time for Vincent to regain his former glory in bracket. That's right: this series has a plot now.
The episode is here.
Tropes:
- Call-Back: During Dark Samus vs. Sonic, Alpharad refers to pummel as "neutral throw." He made this joke two episodes ago, but it went unnoticed.
- Dark Horse Victory: As the commentators noted, nobody expected Link vs. Kirby finals, and nobody is complaining. Downplayed in that a decent number of people predicted that Link would win the tournament (and he did), it's just that nobody expected Kirby to be his last opponent.
- Establishing Character Moment:
- This episode sees the debut of the legendary Skillshare|Kirby (though he isn't sponsored yet), and in his first game, he starts pulling out insane Rock tricks. Such tricks have since made Rock one of his signature moves.
- (Pre-sponsor) Audible|Link also makes his debut here. The way he simply takes Diddy Kong apart and shows almost 100% accuracy with his Final Smash sets the tone for his further appearances.
- Flashback Cut: One of the only ones in the series. There's a transition to a monochrome clip of the Shulk vs. Inkling fight when the implementation of the timer is explained.
- Foregone Conclusion: As with the Shulk vs. Lucina match, the top comment on this episode is about Kirby vs. Link, guaranteeing that the two will survive to fight each other.
- Shout-Out: Yet another JoJo's Bizarre Adventure reference at the beginning of Little Mac vs. Blue Incineroar, when the commentators are joking about the use of Mac's wireframe alt:Alpharad: I reject my humanity, JoJo!
