Go To

Original release date: 10/31/2022

King Boo goes on vacation and tells Bowser to have someone look after his mansion in the woods while he is gone, to which he has the Koopalings and Travis do the task. Unfortunately, Bowser forgets to warn the Koopalings that they need to be careful with an artifact called the Dark Moon, which causes havoc in the mansion once Morton accidentally breaks it.

Tropes

  • All Just a Dream: This episode appears to explain why the previous Halloween Episodes are all non-canon; they're all nightmares of Larry. It's not the case with this episode however.
  • Attack of the Killer Whatever: The Mad Piano that attacks Ludwig and the hot tub that sucks Travis in.
  • Big Damn Heroes: King Boo shows up at the Mansion with a fully restored Dark Moon just in time to save Iggy and Larry from the mischievous Ghosts and their monsters, as well as return all the other Koopalings and Travis to safety.
  • Big Eater: Gobber has the same food tastes as Morton, though unlike Morton Gobber eats fruit.
  • The Cassandra: No one except Iggy takes Larry's claims of the mansion being haunted seriously and they dismiss him as paranoid. They eventually learn that Larry was right the hard way.
  • Comically Missing the Point: After (supposedly) finding Lemmy's body served on a plate, Morton is more concerned about there being salad underneath it.
  • Deadly Bath: Travis is sucked by the hot tub not long after joking about it doing that. Subverted in that he never died and Sneaker simply pulled a cruel prank on him.
  • I Don't Like the Sound of That Place: King Boo's mansion is located on Dark Woods, right by Dead River.
  • Fan Disservice: "Camilla" turning into a hideous monster that attacks Roy. Yikes...
  • Friendly Ghost: The six ghosts are quite friendly when they are under the influence of the Dark Moon. Otherwise, it's better to stay away from them.
  • Gadgeteer Genius: Iggy creates an Iggygust 5000, along with other 4999 failed prototypes, while he was working on his ideal utopia city during his stay at King Boo's mansion.
  • Halloween Episode: Themed and released on Halloween day.
  • Motor Mouth: Iggy after drinking more than five sodas.
  • O.O.C. Is Serious Business: King Boo, normally forgetful and oblivious of his surroundings, is very serious about keeping the Dark Moon intact, knowing that should it break, it would turn Poltergeist, Sneaker, Hider, Slammer and Gobber hostile.
  • Poor Communication Kills: Bowser forgot to tell his kids that King Boo had explicitly warned him to keep the Dark Moon safe at all costs, and unsurprisingly, Morton accidentally breaks it, turning the six Ghosts in the mansion hostile.
  • Red Eyes, Take Warning: The true form of the monster that takes Camilla's appearance has red eyes, and it's sent by the Ghosts to torment the Koopalings.
  • The Sacred Darkness: The Dark Moon, which keeps Poltergeist, Sneaker, Hider, Slammer and Gobber docile and under King Boo's service. When Morton accidentally shatters it, the ghosts become rouge and proceed to break havoc.
  • Spiders Are Scary: Wendy is revealed to be terrified of spiders in this episode, and Hider sends a giant one after her.
  • Poltergeist: The ghosts possess inanimate objects, such as a hot tub, a robot and a piano, to torment the Koopalings. One of them is literally Poltergeist from Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon.
  • Tempting Fate: Travis sarcastically asks Larry, who is paranoid about the mansion being haunted, if the hot tub is going to eat them alive. A few moments later, the hot tub precisely does that to Travis, although he survives as the ghosts don't have intention of killing him or the others.
  • Ugly All Along: Camilla appears to have showed up at the mansion to seduce Roy, but it's soon revealed that it's actually a hideous monster that proceeds to attack Roy, and later on chase Iggy and Larry
  • Why Did It Have to Be Snakes?: Wendy is revealed to be terrified of spiders, so naturally the ghosts torment her with a giant one. According to Hider, she fainted at the mere sight of it.
