After getting the last piece of the Compass and blowing Herbert up, the Vault Hunters reunite with Scarlett. They assemble the Compass and Scarlett sends them to Magny's Lighthouse, southwest of Wurmwater, in order to locate the aforementioned building and revealing where Captain Blade's Treasure resides.
The mission takes place in the Magny's Lighthouse level, which also hosts the side-mission "Message in a Bottle" (Magny's Lighthouse), as well as the challenges "Maroonie's Inheritance", "N00b Cannon" and, of course, "Cult of the Vault".
The mission, the related sidequests and challenges, and the Magny's Lighthouse level in general provide examples of:
- Hoist by His Own Petard: The "Captain Blade's Midnight Star" grenade mod, obtained as a reward for completing "Message in a Bottle", ejects child grenades that home in on the thrower. While all of Captain Blade's cursed weapons can screw you over with their negative effects, the Midnight Star was pretty much designed for it.
- Undying Loyalty: In addition with revealing to you that she'll haste to the treasure before you do, Scarlett tells the Vault Hunters that the Leviathan, in addition to eating Roscoe, not only guards Captain Blade's treasure, but will die in order to do so too.
