Dr. Sweets is at the center of the chaos when a burst water main throws the subway car he is riding in off track, killing his recently-cancer free train companion in the process and making Sweets confront his own mortality. Meanwhile, Brennan and Booth investigate the skeleton that had caused this disaster while being followed by a Japanese reporter (Seiko Matsuda) interested in Brennan's new book.
