A recently excavated corpse found in the back of gang member's car leads the team to investigate a local senator, much to Hodgins' glee. However, the original burial site is located next to another empty grave, which is later discovered to be related to the first corpse.

- Beware the Nice Ones: The normally affable Booth shows his dark side when a gang leader responds to Brennan humiliating him by putting a hit out on her. Booth corners him in an alley, pushes him against a wall and shoves a gun in his mouth, making it clear if this isn't reversed he will kill the man, law be damned. Since the gang leader is smart enough to comply we don't know if Booth would have followed through but he was plenty convincing.
- The Butler Did It: Hector, the senator's live-in gardener and general head of the staff, accidentally killed the victim by pulling her off a ladder while arguing over her relationship with the senator's son.
- Uptown Girl: Uptown boy in this case, with the impoverished maid and the trust fund kid.
