The remains of a young girl are found in a ditch near a prestigious private school, with the cause of death believed to be murder until more digging reveals a complicated suicide plot meant to frame her school tormentors. Meanwhile, the rest of the Jeffersonian team discover Brennan is pregnant and Daisy ponders whether to start dating again, still reeling from the death of Sweets.

- Foreshadowing: Brennan notes that the victim had all of her non-fiction books, which is where she learned enough to convincingly fake her murder.
- Frame-Up: The victim attempted to frame her three bullies for her suicide using items she stole from them; they don't attempt much of a cover-up because she drugged them so deeply they didn't even think they did anything the night of the "murder".
- Suicide, Not Murder: No one considers suicide for the Victim of the Week's cause of death, least of all Brennan because she overcame her troubled, lonely childhood while the victim didn't (there's also the fact that the victim numbed herself so she could wrench her non-dominant arm out of its socket and stab herself multiple times with a pair of scissors).
