"Teddy's a hoarder!"

Linda: We found your dining room!
Teddy: No, that's the storage room!
Tina: But we found a dining table under all that stuff.

When the Belchers help a panicking Teddy prepare for Thanksgiving, they discover he's a secret hoarder.

Tropes-hoarding:

  • The Ditz: When Bob tells Teddy to grab the carrot peeler, Teddy somehow ignores the tool that is obviously the peeler (grabbing a spatula twice), and when he does find it he decides to hold it by the blade, naturally resulting in him cutting himself.
Bob: It's the only thing that looks like it could peel a carrot.
    Bob: Oh my God.
  • Down in the Dumps: Teddy hides inside the dumpster with all his discarded stuff after freaking out.
  • Epic Fail: Bob went out of his way to write instructions and tape them to each specific dish, and even allowed Teddy to photograph him in the process of preparing said dishes. Come Thanksgiving and Teddy's totally messed up his kitchen and got confused over the photos he insisted on taking to make things easier to understand. In fairness, Teddy is having a protracted nervous breakdown over having his hoarding disrupted but, then again, he wasn't doing well with the cooking even before the breakdown.
  • Everyone Has Standards: Even a fart lover like Gene can tell Tina's locker is disgusting.
  • Freudian Excuse: Teddy's desire to fix things comes from his parents fighting on Thanksgiving, and him wishing he could fix it.
  • Lethal Chef: Even after Bob prepared all the dishes and left simple instructions on how to cook them, and even with the aid of Polaroids, Teddy still makes a mess of Thanksgiving dinner.
  • Likes Older Women: It's implied that Teddy's mother's new boyfriend is a great deal younger than her.
  • Nausea Fuel: In-universe, Teddy and Linda are both a bit disgusted when they see Bob preparing the turkey. Teddy gets to watch Bob rub the brine in underneath the skin, while Linda's freaked out by Bob removing the turkey's backbone for spatchcocking.
  • Nervous Wreck: Teddy spends the entire episode in a near constant state of panic, from having to deal with his family visiting his place for Thanksgiving, from Linda and the kids sorting through and throwing away most of the stuff he spent years hoarding, to his inability to follow Bob's incredibly simple instructions on how to heat the food.
  • The Perfectionist: As usual, Bob is this in regards to Thanksgiving. The Belchers actually liked Bob's first Thanksgiving dinner, but Bob felt it wasn't as good as it could've been and thus decides to make a second one for "redemption".
  • The Pig-Pen: Tina isn't phased by Teddy's "panic stink," claiming he smells like her locker. She suddenly realizes this is a bad thing.
Tina: What? He smells like the inside of my locker. Oh no.
    Gene: And now you know.
  • Pyromaniac: Naturally, Louise suggests burning everything the Belchers decide to throw out from Teddy's hoard.
  • Shout-Out:
  • Supreme Chef: Bob's "Redemption Thanksgiving Dinner" is so good even Louise can't bring herself to make a serious attempt at mocking it.
  • Tempting Fate: Linda goads Bob into visiting Teddy by saying it won't take too long. Naturally, it takes very long.
  • Throw the Dog a Bone: After eight seasons of Bob trying to cook The Perfect Thanksgiving Dinner but being sabotaged by his family's antics, Bob finally gets to serve his "Redemption Thanksgiving Dinner" at the end of the episode, and his family is amazed by how good it tastes. Even the Belcher kids, who're still stuffed with a subpar first Thanksgiving dinnernote , remark that they'll try to grow a second stomach to make room for the second one.
  • Trash of the Titans: Teddy is revealed to be a hoarder. Specifically, he collects things with the intent of fixing them, but never gets around to do so.
  • Twitchy Eye: Teddy develops one (along with twitchy fingers) after all of the stuff he hoarded is put into a dumpster.
