It makes up chapter 3 of the series.

Chapter 3: Monster

Team Z is tasked to spend the next 3 days training up in Blue Lock's gym. As Isagi and company train, the well-built Raichi (Rank 294) turns out to be a huge stamina freak, but also appears to be a hot-head who curses a lot. In addition, Kuon (Rank 293) turns out to be a high jumper due to his long legs, which is a sign that he will be good for headers, but he also appears to be a nice enough guy that he provides Isagi with a bottle of water.

When Team Z's not in the strength room, they're eating meals in the Blue Lock cafeteria, which the players are given better food depending on their current rank. Isagi (Rank 299) and Igarashi (Rank 300) only get natto and pickled daikon respectively since they're the lowest two players. Meanwhile, Gagamaru (Rank 296) gets to eat gyoza, but is seen eating it with his hands, which shows his wild animal persona. One of Gagamaru's gyoza ends up getting stolen away by Naruhaya (Rank 297), who appears to have a playful trickster persona.

One night as Team Z remains sleeping in their locker room, Isagi remains unable to sleep due to being hyped up about his journey through Blue Lock. He heads off to train some more, which he runs into Bachira, who also wasn't able to sleep. The two of them head off to Team Z's practice field to train together. As they practice, Isagi questions Bachira why the latter decided to pass to the former to eliminate Kira from Blue Lock. Bachira explains how he's someone who has a "monster" within himself that helps him play football. That the "monster" told him of how he should team up with Isagi, who he could sense also has a "monster" deep within him. Isagi becomes interested in what the "monster" is that's within himself, and ends up befriending Bachira as they continue to practice.

Eventually, the announcement from Ego is made that the 3 days of strength training is over. Regrouping in the locker room, Team Z all go up 25 ranks. However, it turns out that everyone just went up 25 ranks automatically since 25 Tag games were played that each eliminated a player from Blue Lock. Ego then explains how there's 25 teams split up into 5 strata groups that will be playing games between each another (B-F, G-K, L-P, Q-U, and V-Z). Thus, he warns Isagi's Team Z that they're not just the worst of the V-Z strata, but are the worst team in Blue Lock overall. Ego then announces that it's time to begin Blue Lock's First Selection.
