- The use of the stored bodycam footage reflects concerns that have been raised over what happens to footage when bodycams become more common.
- Spurned into Suicide: When the existence of Daylight's information source is made public, Varma proposes to Mayfair that they move to Hong Kong to avoid extradition. When Mayfair chooses instead to stay on the job and try to mitigate the damage, Varma takes her own life.
