When Fred opens a spam email, Basemax gets infected with a virus and turns against the team.
Tropes in this episode:
- 419 Scam: Fred receives an email from "the queen of Spamibia".
- Accidental Hero: Fred falls down the air vent into the room with the secret shutdown switch and happens to hit his head on the right button to shutdown Basemax.
- Answer Cut: When Hiro sees how complicated the shutdown switch is, he wonders why Roddy didn't make it simpler. A flashback then shows that he did, but Fred redesigned it.
- Big "NO!": Baymax subverts his usual "Oh, no" while controlled by the virus.Baymax: Oh... (with flames in the background) NOOOOOOO!!
- Borrowed Catchphrase: Mini-Max borrows Baymax's "Oh, no", though his has a slightly different emphasis.
- Continuity Nod: Baymax dances to the tune Yama danced to in "The Bot Fighter". Surprisingly, Basemax likes it.
- Descriptiveville: Spamibia.
- FaceāHeel Turn: All the Maxes, and the Simmax bots, thanks to the virus, turn against Big Hero 6.
- God Save Us from the Queen!: The corrupted Basemax calls herself the Queen of Spamibia.
- Here We Go Again!: The episode ends with Fred opening yet another virus-filed e-mail.
- Idiot Ball: Fred; even after everything that went down, he opens another spam e-mail in the end.
- Large Ham: When corrupted, Basemax shows she can be quite boisterous and over the top.
- Namedworld and Namedland: Spamibia, a reference to Namibia.
- Never Trust a Trailer: Or synopsis, in this case. Said synopsis stated the Basemax was the one who opened the spam e-mail when it was actually Fred.
- Napoleon Delusion: Basemax believes herself to be the Queen of Spamibia after opening the email.
- O.O.C. Is Serious Business: After Wasabi, Honey Lemon and GoGo show up to save him and Fred, Hiro asks how they knew something was wrong. They reply that Fred stopped sending them text messages.
- Shout-Out:
- At one point, Basemax yells "Off with Your Head!"
- Mini-Max refers to himself a sorcerer's apprentice to "Baymaximus", the "Sorcerer of Spamibia".
