Recap / Big Hero 6 The Series S 2 E 11 Write Turn Here

Go To

Hiro is forced to write a story for his class and decides to write a Big Hero 6 story. Meanwhile, strange versions of Noodle Burger Boy attack the team.

Tropes:

  • Actually a Doombot: Emo Noodle Burger Boy is the first copy encountered by the team, and it leads the audience to believe he's acting sad because Trina told him to go away. He along with the other NBBs is revealed to be just a decoy created by the original.
  • Adaptational Jerkass: Lampshaded by Fred; Hiro is so determined to be better than Karmi that his first take on the fanfic just humiliates her for no reason, and the whole team agrees that "Captain Cutie" is far too unlikeable.
  • All There in the Script: The names of the various Noodle Burger Boys are given in the credits for the episode.
  • Avenging the Villain: Trina's goal is to avenge Obake's death.
  • Breather Episode: A mostly comedic episode preceding the ending of "City of Monsters" arc.
  • The Eeyore: The first copy of Noodle Burger Boy the team faces is an overly depressed robot that acts like an Emo Teen.
  • "Eureka!" Moment: Wasabi's story has Momakase making robot clones of Big Hero 6 as a distraction... which is what makes Hiro realize that's what Noodle Burger Boy has been doing.
  • Evil Brit: One of the knockoffs of Noodle Burger Boy has a British accent and a High-Class Glass.
  • Evil Is Petty: When in SFIT attacking the team, British Burger Boy jumps on Wasabi's tool chest, and kicks his tools off.
  • Exact Words: Noodle Burger Boy takes Trina telling him to "make yourself useful" as making useful clones of himself.
  • Filler: This episode is unrelated to the "City of Monsters" arc and is silly humor thrown there before the mid-season finale.
  • Gilligan Cut: Karmi tells Hiro to be ready to "stare at a blank computer screen all night". When Hiro tells her she wishes for it to happen, the scene cuts... to Hiro, staring at a blank computer screen, and Baymax noting he did so all night.
  • Good Old Fisticuffs: The british Noodle Burger Boy acts like a 20's boxer and wants to fight GoGo using his fists.
  • Ninja Pirate Zombie Robot: Noodle Burger Boy creates multiple robotic prototypes of himself, in which two of them are a British gentleman and a pirate, respectively.
  • Not Even Bothering with the Accent: When GoGo does her spin on the fan fiction, she doesn't even bother to add a British Accent with Momokase where everyone else did, showing her utter lack of care towards the subject.
  • Out of Character:
    • Played for Laughs once someone takes over the fanfiction and gives the characters their own personality (ex; Karmi pops a bubblegum and is annoyed like GoGo, Noodle Burger Boy's take on the characters include black bead eyes like his, etc.)
    • Invoked trope by Fred. He calls the sad!NBB "OOC".
  • Pun-Based Title: In reference to how all the characters take turns writing Hiro's story assignment.
  • Recursive Fanfiction: Hiro writes a fanfic on Karmi's fanfic about himself. Then, every team member also puts their own spin on it. Then, even Noodle Burger Boy adds his touch. In the middle of a fight.
  • Revenge Fic: Hiro attempts to make one about Karmi, but the others veto the idea.
  • Round Robin: The In-Universe fanfic that Hiro and the others write is one, as Lampshaded by the episode's Pun-Based Title. Strangely, no one suggests replacements to the prior suggestions despite the clash of styles; they just continue where the others left off.
  • Running Gag: The Noodle Burger Boy copies being crushed and Fred always catching their ripped off feet.
  • Send in the Clones: This episode stars Noodle Burger Boy and tons of copies of him.
  • Shamu Fu: Pirate!NBB attacks the team with a fish.
  • Shipper on Deck: Honey Lemon's turn on the fanfiction is Hiro admitting his feelings for Karmi and the two almost kissing. Hiro is far from being amused.
  • Sympathy for the Devil: Played for Laughs with Fred's exaggerated reaction the first time Noodle Burger Boy is destroyed.
  • Talking Is a Free Action: Averted. Big Hero 6 defeat the other Noodle Burger Boys while the original is distracted creating his own spin on the fan fiction. But Honey Lemon promises they were still listening.
  • Tempting Fate: Hiro after being taunted by Karmi (as noted under Gilligan Cut, above) and Emo Noodle Burger Boy laments that his life cannot get any worse before being crushed to death.
  • Write What You Know: In-Universe. Hiro writes scientifically-accurate (read: not scary) horror, then a Big Hero 6 story, then a story about him, Tadashi and Baymax.
  • Write Who You Know: In-Universe. Hiro's final story is about him, Tadashi and Baymax.
  • You Killed My Father: Trina blames Big Hero 6 for Obake's death and plans on avenging him.
