- Gwen points out that when the group previously encountered Octagon and Rhomboid in "The Enemy of My Enemy", they were trying to go straight as Plumber cadets.
- The Dreaded: Ma Vreedle's appearance leads the security at a bank to immediately surrender, and Kevin to turn and fly in the other direction.
- Frictionless Reentry: Ultimate Spidermonkey ends up falling off the spaceship he's on and crashes onto the Earth below. Despite this, he doesn't burn up on reentry and doesn't suffer any fall damage.
- Heel–Face Revolving Door: After becoming Plumbers in their previous appearance, the Vreedles are seemingly back at it here, before remembering their lucrative new careers and arresting their mother.
- No Celebrities Were Harmed: The bank teller is very clearly based on Paul Lynde.
- Similarly, the Pisces Volann Plumber Patelliday is Don Knotts as a space fish.
- Parental Neglect: Ben tries to have Big Chill emphasise with Ma Vreedle on both of them being mothers, which fails once he mentions he doesn't know where his kids are.
- Raise Him Right This Time: Magister Patelliday takes possession of the already cloned Pretty Boys.Patelliday: We’ll make sure they’re dropped off at the appropriate orphanage. (A Pretty Boy belches in his face) Or zoo.
- You Meddling Kids: Quoted by Ma Vreedle as her sons take her to jail.
- Who Would Be Stupid Enough?: As Kevin tries to flee from Ma Vreedle, he asks who'd be dumb enough to not be afraid of her. He then looks over at his shoulder at Ben, sighs, and turns the ship back around.
