Ben is suspicious when Julie seems to be intent on spending time with him at the expense of everything else.

- Beware the Silly Ones: After being a Harmless Villain in previous appearances, Sserpent comes up with a trap that almost does Ben in.
- Bittersweet Ending: Ben and Julie fix their relationship, but Elena is left mad, and vows revenge.
- Boyfriend-Blocking Dad: Julie’s is implied to be one, given that his reaction to Ben showing up is to brush him off and slam the door.
Word of God is that he assumes that Ben probably groped his daughter. - Chronic Hero Syndrome: Ben is so desperate to stop Sserpent that he abandons Julie at the airport, despite promising to spend time with her.
- Deus Exit Machina: Gwen is the first to be victimized by Elena, to prevent her from figuring out the game prematurely.
- Evil-Detecting Dog: Ship is the first to realize that Julie has been replaced with a fake.
- Failed a Spot Check: Subverted. Ben is shocked to see Julie on TV competing in the tennis tournament despite the fact that she's sitting next to him, even though the word "Replay" is on the screen. When "Julie" points this out, Ben takes a closer look and sees that it is indeed a replay... from yesterday.
- Just in Time: Julie returns just as Elena is about to capture Ben.
- Karma Houdini: Sserpent ends up escaping from both Ben and the police and remains at large.
- Out-of-Character Alert:
- Kevin goes undercover at a movie theater Ben and "Julie" are watching Sumo Slammers at, and is quick to notice the latter's facial expression isn't exactly in-character for Julie...
- Early on, Ship is shown growling and acting hostile towards his master, which is quite unusual given their close bond.
- Sequel Episode: To "Revenge of the Swarm".
- Shapeshifter Guilt Trip: When Ben attempts to attack Elena, she takes on Julie's apperance once again to make him hesitate before sending nanochips into his mouth and starts chocking him.
- Spotting the Thread: Ben realizes the truth when he sees Julie did go and compete in the tennis tournament. When "Julie" points out that it's a replay, Ben takes a closer look and sees that it is indeed a replay... from yesterday. Cue "Julie" revealing herself to be Elena.
- Wham Line:
- What finally gets Ben to notice something off is when he goes to talk to Julie and is greeted by her dad.
Julie’s Dad: She’s not here. You of all people ought to know that.- And when Ben turns on the TV so he and Julie can watch something the latter likes, he turns the channel onto a tennis tournament and sees her performing...
Ben: Hey, it's you!
"Julie": Must be a replay
