Ben finds himself being hounded by Techadon robots sent by Vulkanus.
- Adaptive Ability: Techadons use data from their previous defeats to upgrade the next model. This prevents Ben from using Goop like he did last time.
- Awesomeness by Analysis: Ben is able to use Brainstorm’s intelligence to score a hole in one at mini-golf.
- Bad Liar: Gwen lampshades that Kevin already has a buyer lined up when he says he’ll destroy the Techadon’s control module.
- Batman Gambit: Argit helps set up Vulkanus’s defeat by suggesting he go to Earth personally to make sure his robots are doing their jobs.
- Character Development: Ben and Gwen even lampshade how they’ve managed to become closer than they ever were as kids.
- Continuity Nod:
- Kevin is shown to have kept the ID mask that he used to disguise himself as his normal self in season 3 of Alien Force. Ben uses it to trick the Techadon into believing Vulkanus is Ben himself.
- When encountering the second Techadon Vulkanus ordered to kill Ben, he suggests turning into Goop and causing the robot to implode, just like he did in The Gauntlet. Unfortunately, Kevin informs Ben that's not going to work because newer models are updated to take the previous models defeats into account.
- Competition Freak: After Ben gets a hole in one at a nigh-impossible golf hole, Julie insists on a rematch.
- "Eureka!" Moment: Ben realizes that the Techadons are tracking him via the Ultimatrix, so once he covers it with his shirt, the current Techadon is unable to find him even when he’s in the same location as it. Ben changes the Techadon’s target to Vulkanus by placing an ID mask on his back and having it take on the appearance of the Ultimatrix symbol.
- Hoist by His Own Petard: Vulkanus is chased off by the Techadons he ordered because Kevin tricked them into thinking he was Ben turned into an alien.
- Irrevocable Order: When Gwen demands that Vulkanus call off the Techadons’ attack on Ben, he states that he couldn’t even if he wanted to.
- Mundane Utility: Ben uses Brainstorm to get a hole-in-one at mini golf.
- Skewed Priorities: Julie insists on rematching Ben, even when a killer robot shows up.
