Go To

  • Any Last Words?: Blockbuster asks Billy this. He says just one: SHAZAM!
  • Ascended Fanboy: Captain Marvel remarks he's always wanted to work with Batman.
  • Back for the Dead: Huntress... supposedly.
  • Batman Cold Open: Notably, this one introduces Captain Marvel to the series. He and Batman team up to take down Blockbuster at a museum.
  • Batman Gambit: The end reveals that Batman faked being so ruthless as a distraction so that Green Arrow could do the heavy-lifting in destroying the warmoon. Batman's reference to Monte Carlo was his signal for Green Arrow on what to do.
  • Big "NO!": Black Manta after being sent off the cliff.
  • I Have Your Wife: Er, city. Mongul says he'll destroy the home city of anyone who refuses to participate.
  • I Lied: Mongul after his warmoon is blown up. He decides to get revenge on everyone who participated in the death race: If he can't have his warmoon, then they can't have Earth.
  • Kids Love Dinosaurs: Billy looks forward to seeing the triceratops skeleton. This is also the only thing that Captain Marvel thinks is cooler than teaming up with Batman.
  • No Honor Among Thieves: Joker gladly sends Black Manta off a cliff for the fun of it.
  • Noodle Incident: Batman and Green Arrow never raced in Monte Carlo, but they did fight Clock King there. Batman ran interference, while Green Arrow destroyed the Clock King's latest weapon.
  • Not Quite Dead: Green Arrow, Woozy Winks, Plastic Man, and Guy Gardner are shocked to learn Huntress didn't survive. She is later revealed to have survived anyways.
  • Superdickery: Batman acts uncharacteristically callous and selfish, seemingly obsessed with winning the race to save Gotham City at the expense of the lives of his fellow superheroes, and butting heads with Green Arrow in the most heated rivalry yet. Even Mongul begins rooting for Batman to win because of how ruthless he becomes. This is later revealed to be an act on Batman's part to distract Mongul from Green Arrow's machinations, with everyone except the villains and Plastic Man being in on their plan.
  • There Are No Rules: Mongul gives this as the third rule of his race; he later breaks his word to demand Batman turn off the Batmobile's jet mode.
  • This Is Gonna Suck: Imprisoned with the others, Guy tries to blast his way free, but Plastic Man points out his ring has been stored outside their cell.
    Guy: Earth's doomed.
  • Unexplained Recovery: Possibly, in regards to the Gentleman Ghost. Mongul apparently has some kind of tech that lets him teleport anyone on Earth (and beyond?) to his proximity with a thought, but whether this is a believable solution to Craddock's last appearance is up to the viewer.
  • The Unreveal: Huntress is evasive if she was in on Batman's plan the entire time.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: Green Arrow rides Batman for his vicious attitude throughout the episode. We later learn this was part of the plan.
  • Worth It: Guy considers being used as a human arrow and smashing through glass worth getting his ring back.
  • You Have Outlived Your Usefulness: Mongul pulls this on Steppenwolf
