Recap / Asura's Wrath E17 "Feet of Clay"

Go To

Asura and Yasha make it into the Karma Fortress and sabotage The Brahmastra before their final battle against Deus.

Tropes:

  • Alas, Poor Villain: Deus lives long enough to see Gohma Vlitra manifest at full power, everything he had to combat it (himself, The Brahmastra and the mantra they had collected) all gone. He asks Asura how he could have beaten him and loses all hope when Asura won't give him an answer, dying with his beliefs shattered.
  • Blasphemous Boast: Deus declares that all who oppose his plan "are guilty of blasphemy!"
  • Cut the Juice: Before they confront Deus, Asura and Yasha destroy all of the mantra-filled batteries housing the seven trillion human souls.
  • Easily Forgiven: Even after everything she was put through, Mithra forgives Yasha for everything that has happened.
  • From Bad to Worse: Gohma Vlitra appears right after Asura and Yasha defeat Deus once and for all. The Brahmastra and all of the mantra they stored is useless now, and Asura and Yasha are the only demigods left to face it with no army to back them up.
  • Heroic Second Wind: After is seems that Deus has won the fight, he painfully forces Mithra to give him a power boost. She sheds one tear after the painful process, and since making his daughter cry is his biggest Berserk Button (impressive since his entire keyboard is made up of Berserk Buttons), Asura gets up to continue the fight, his attacks connecting unlike before.
    Asura: Why must Mithra cry!!
  • Kick the Dog: When it seems that Deus has won the fight, Deus — who doesn't seem hurt from the battle at all — has Mithra give him a power boost (a process that is implied to be unpleasant for her to experience) just so he could beat Asura's head into the ground beneath his foot.
  • Parrying Bullets: Attacking Deus from a distance is useless as he blocks all of them with his nunchucks.
  • Powered by a Forsaken Child: Midway through their fight with him, he has Mithra — who has been tied up in the middle of the room the whole time — to give him a power boost.

Mithra

Mithra was born with the power to enhance mantra through prayer. The Seven Deities saw potential in it and use her as a battery to enhance their mantra reserves.
