Recap / Asura's Wrath E13 "Cause and Effect"

Go To

After Berserker Asura decimates her fleet, Olga then resorts in using the deities' planet sized-super weapon — The Brahmastra — but Yasha feels that using the weapon on Asura will only waste the thousands of souls collected for use against the Gohma. Yasha manages to stop the weapon in mid-fire, but Asura goes missing in the blast.

Tropes:

  • Beam-O-War: Asura manages to fend off some of the The Brahmastra's beam before being overpowered by it.
  • Bittersweet Ending: While Yasha manages to cut the attack short, they still spent a lot of mantra blasting Asura. Not only that, but Yasha's doubts of the cause only grows louder.
  • Enemy Civil War: When Yasha decides to stop Olga from using The Brahmastra, their troops (sent by Olga to stall) turn against him.
  • Humans Are Insects: When Yasha tries to talk Olga out of using The Brahmastra, Olga remarks that they could just get more mantra with humanity under their control, treating them less like necessary sacrifices and more like cattle for them to slaughter on a whim.
Olga: With the mortals under our control, our supply is endless.
  • Switching P.O.V.: With Asura lost in his rage as Berserker Asura, Part III begins with Yasha as the Player Character.
  • You're Insane!: Yasha decides to intervene when Olga decides to use The Brahmastra and waste their reserves of mantra meant for the Great Rebirth in trying to kill Asura.

Yasha's Realization

Yasha realizes that their mission is not as holy as he presumed it to be when they prioritize killing Asura at the expense of the sacrifices they had made and necessary evils they have committed in eradicating the Gohma.
