Lindsay, embarrassed to be working at a clothing store, claims that she's shoplifting. This becomes a personal challenge for magician Gob.
The Arrested Development episode "Not Without My Daughter" provides examples of:

- Suspiciously Specific Denial: Michael makes one when being questioned by police officers about Kitty's disappearance not because he's actually guilty of what he's denying but simply from blurting out his thoughts:Michael: I certainly didn't kill her and drop her in the back bay. (Beat) Boy, I hope that's not what happened to her.
- "Take Your Child to Work Day" Plot: Exaggerated when EVERYONE in Newport Beach participates in Bring Your Daughter To Work Day, including Tobias (bringing Maeby to a private therapy session), the local police, and a prison guard. Subverted with Barry Zuckercorn, who just hired a hooker to call him "Daddy."
