Recap / Aqua Teen Hunger Force S 7 E 10 Kangarilla And The Magic Tarantula

Go To

Shake and Frylock become addicted to a cell phone game, completing unaware of the ghost haunting them.

Tropes:

  • Exposition Already Covered: The trio meets a ghost who tells them he's from Smiley Junction. When Frylock asks him if he meant Three-Arm Junction, Meatwad asks what it is and then Frylock explains the history of Smiley Junction. When Frylock finishes, the disappointed ghost tells him that was his story and he was going to tell it.
  • Failed a Spot Check: The ghost does everything he can to get the attention of Shake and Frylock, who are far too into their game. Not even the ghost causing blood to literally spew from the very phone they're playing from or biting off Shake's fingers gets their attention. It's only when the ghost blows up the house that they finally realize what's going on, but even then, they're pretty casual about it.
  • Ghostly Goals: The ghost of Smiley Junction's are hilariously mundane. Initially he's haunting the Aqua Teens because he and the others at Smiley Junction want pizza and Chinese takeout but have no way to order it. After learning about his weaksauce weakness his goals shift to wanting to hold a benefit concert to convince people to stop using cell phones.
  • Ghostly Wail: The ghost of Smiley Junction drops it as soon as he has the Aqua Teens' attention.
  • Not So Above It All: Frylock becomes so addicted to the eponymous phone game that he fails to even acknowledge the fact that his house is now haunted.
  • Stating the Simple Solution: Frylock suggests the ghosts at Smiley Junction open their own pizza place. He says it's a good idea and would've left if Meatwad hadn't asked him about his benefit concert idea.
  • Weaksauce Weakness: Cell phone signals kill ghosts, as the ghost of Smiley Junction finds out repeatedly.
  • You Can't Kill What's Already Dead: Technically you can, but killing a ghost just causes it to come back as a ghost of a ghost.
