The American Dragon is looking a little different this week.

Jake and Lao-Shi leave for the Isle of Draco for the weekend, leaving Fu Dog, Trixie and Spud in charge of watching over the shop. Jake's friends are confident they can handle it, but find themselves in over their heads when unruly biker trolls start tearing up Magus Bazaar. With Fu Dog losing the emergency numbers he's supposed to call, the teens are forced to don a magic dragon costume and go into battle.

This episode has examples of

  • 555: Fu has a certain Cindy's number tattooed on his inner-stomach rolls that begins with 555.
  • Borrowed Catchphrase: Trixie and Spud use Jake's "Aw, man!" line twice throughout the episode.
  • Brick Joke: Morty, the ogre goon who was attempting to collect money from Fu near the beginning of the episode, shows back up after the Magic Carpet salesman calls Fu out on never paying his tab.
  • Even Bad Men Love Their Mamas: Mountain Trolls are cowards when it comes to dragons, even shoddily-made ones, but Trixie insulting their mother is the only thing that will override their fear.
  • Evil Brit: Invoked by one of the two goblins Jake faces at the beginning of the episode. He's very clearly American, but once they start to gang up on Trixie and Spud, he starts putting on a stereotypical accent because he thinks it seems like a "fetching super-villain thing".
  • Eye of Newt: Fu Dog adds it as the final ingredient to the dragon spell he makes for Spud and Trixie. While it technically does nothing, he asserts that every good potion needs at least some newt in it.
  • I Can See My House from Here: Spud utters this as he and Trixie are first learning how to fly in the dragon suit.
  • Nice Job Breaking It, Hero: Had Trixie and Spud not insulted the mountain trolls' mother, they wouldn't have brought her along the next night.
  • Noodle Incident:
    • The last time Lao Shi let Fu run the shop alone, it somehow ended up completely demolished by the time he returned.
    • Apparently, at one point, Fu Dog took Trixie and Spud to get Tijuana hot dogs. The pair didn't find it an enjoyable experience.
Spud: My intestines will never be the same.
  • Out of Focus: Jake has a relatively small role in the episode, as the plot is about Spud, Trixie, and Fu Dog having to hold down the fort while Jake and Lao Shi are away.
  • Superhuman Trafficking: The Cold Opening consists of Jake busting a goblin, who even calls himself "The Pixie Man", who is selling a caged-up and terrified pixie to another goblin.
  • Taken for Granite: Sunlight turns trolls to stone when it hits them. Fu's bottle of instant sunshine is the key in freezing Mama Troll when the gang breaks into the electronics shop.
  • That Poor Cat: A cat screeches as Spud accidentally knocks Fu off the apartment rooftop.
  • Your Mom: The mountain trolls were completely scared of the dragon disguise and ran away. But the moment Trixie insulted their mom, all fear went out of the window and were willing to fight a dragon.
