Greg has been depressed since his coworker and lover Terrynote  left him to go on tour with the music group 311, so Francine steps in as Greg's new co-anchor after their dinnertime banter impresses Stan, but the fame goes to Francine's head and Francine becomes the star of the local news. Meanwhile, Hayley, Steve, and Roger play an old board game and Roger becomes hung up on a cute boy pictured in the game.

Tropes

  • Acquired Situational Narcissism: Francine's new fame goes to her head and starts to upstage Greg, though she eventually comes to see the error of her ways.
  • Big Eater: When Stan realizes he is able to access free food because of Francine's new job, he treats himself to 16 burritos per day for the next several weeks.
  • Bittersweet Ending: Despite Greg getting his job back, numerous people have died as a result of the storm surge the CIA made and Memphis reveals to Greg he is actually straight.
  • Body Horror: Stan's colon ruptures (in which it has to be sealed with duct tape) as a result of overindulging in burritos and fast food for several weeks.
  • Brick Joke: Francine does a news report on 17 alligators being on the loose. The CIA-powered tornado releases the same alligators into Langley Falls.
  • Bunny-Ears Lawyer: Despite her Cloudcuckoolander tendencies, Francine actually does pretty good as a news anchor.
  • Disproportionate Retribution: Roger kills Dillon for being a fraud.
Hayley: Why is there blood on the Dream Phone?
Roger: He likes malls and pizza... and me.
Steve: (hesitantly) Roger... what's in this jar?
Roger: Dillon was being bad... and now we have the jar.
  • Jabba Table Manners: Stan shoves a tray of cake into his face and eats it like a dog.
  • Major Injury Underreaction: Stan rather casually mentions his colon got ruptured after eating too much fast food at Loco Larry's.
Stan: I looked it up online, and it is reversible.
  • Pet the Dog: Stan is willing to accept losing his access to free food at Loco Larry's so Francine can make things right and Greg gets his job back.
  • Put on a Bus: Greg mentions that Terry left Langley Falls to be part of a music group. Terry never comes back. This is due to Mike Barker leaving the show.
  • Skewed Priorities: Stan and Francine are glad that Greg got his job back and has Memphis as his partner (although the latter is actually straight), completely ignoring all the destruction and carnage they caused. Both Greg and Memphis are understandably disgusted.
    Memphis: Lives were destroyed.
Francine: But Greg's life was fixed.
Stan: Now, you've got a new work partner and a new life partner. Now kiss, you two lovebirds. And put some mustard on it.
    Greg: Aren't you straight?
Memphis: Yes, but I'm terrified of these people. They can control the weather!
  • Take That!: Subverted. While at the height of her fame, Francine insults Greg by likening him to Ray Donovan, calling it a terrible show and a waste of space. She then backtracks and admits she hasn't actually seen the show due to the Smiths not having Showtime, so she actually doesn't have any strong opinion on Ray Donovan and that it may be good.
  • Temporary Bulk Change: Stan becomes obese after gorging on fast food from Loco Larry's for weeks.
  • Weight Woe: Stan mentions that he broke his colon on the account of all the weight he gained from Mexican food.
Stan: It's real easy to come up with clever word play when you're not holding in your butthole with a piece of duct tape.
  • Worst Aid: Stan mentions he had his sphincter sealed with duct tape on the account of breaking his colon.
