When the gang is looking for Halloween costumes in the Finsters’ garage, they find “TP+KF” carved into the wall. Chuckie freaks out and believes that Tommy has a crush on his sister, Kimi. The argument between Tommy and Chuckie escalates to the point where neither of them are speaking to each other and the gang has to try to fix the broken friendship. Meanwhile Dil goes trick-or-treating the day before in order to beat the rush, and Chas uses a new security system to try to scare away anyone who might want to toilet paper his house.

Tropes:

  • The Bro Code: Chuckie reminds Tommy that it’s “against the rules to mack on your best friend’s sister.”
  • Cat Scare: Kimi, Phil, and Lil hear rustling in the bushes when they’re out trick-or-treating and think it’s the teenagers coming to steal their candy. However, it was just a stray cat.
  • "Could Have Avoided This!" Plot: If Kimi had just admitted in the first place that she was the one who made the carving, the whole feud between Tommy and Chuckie could’ve been avoided.
  • Crazy Cat Lady: Chuckie trick-or-treats at his elderly neighbor’s house who has several cats. She doesn’t have any candy but she tells him she’s lonely. Chuckie uses this opportunity to talk her ear off about his fight with Tommy, but even she gets sick of his rambling.
  • Dramatic Thunder: Thunder crashes and lightning strikes as Chuckie reads the letters carved into the wall of the Finsters’ garage.
  • Failure Montage: Chuckie has no luck finding a new friend to go trick-or-treating with, being turned down by everyone he asks - even the class’s pet mouse (that talks for some reason?).
  • Feud Episode: The argument between Tommy & Chuckie over whether or not Tommy has a crush on Kimi gets to the point that the once-best friends want nothing to do with each other.
  • The Gadfly: Betty sneaks past all the booby traps on Chas’ property to toilet paper his house. It’s unclear if she’s been the one to pull this prank on him every year, or if she’s just doing it this one time to mess with him after hearing about all of his preventative measures.
  • Get a Room!: While out bowling, Chuckie sees Tommy and Kimi acting a little too friendly and suggests that they get their own lane.
  • Halloween Episode: The group is looking through Chuckie’s garage for Halloween costumes when they find the carving that kicks off the plot’s events.
  • Halloween Trickery: Each Halloween, a group of teenagers terrorizes trick-or-treaters throughout the neighborhood.
Chuckie: Every year they prowl the streets in grossly inappropriate costumes hunting down kids and stealing their candy!
  • I'm Standing Right Here: Kimi’s reaction when Tommy denies carving their initials into the wall:
Tommy: Why would I be interested in Kimi?
Kimi: Hello? I’m in the room?
  • Instantly Proven Wrong: Lil comforts Chuckie by telling him that Tommy probably hasn’t found anyone else to trick-or-treat with either and that no one can make friends that fast. They then turn around to find everyone in the cafeteria fighting over being Tommy’s new best friend.
  • Jerkass Ball: Chuckie grabs it hard in this episode. Granted, he was trying to look out for his sister, but he took it way too far. When Tommy suggests they shouldn’t go trick-or-treating together, Chuckie one-ups him and says they shouldn’t even be friends anymore.
  • My Sister Is Off-Limits: More like my stepsister is off limits, Chuckie is so against the idea of Tommy and Kimi having feelings for each other that it drives a wedge in his and Tommy’s friendship.
  • Not What It Looks Like: Chuckie keeps catching Tommy and Kimi in situations that make it look like they have feelings for each other.
  • Rage Breaking Point: It turns out that Chuckie’s anger towards Tommy isn’t really about him possibly having feelings for Kimi, but rather a result of Chuckie’s insecurities and feeling inadequate compared to Tommy finally bubbling over.
  • Record Scratch: One plays when the owner of the only house they end up trick-or-treating at mistakes Phil for being dressed up as a used-car salesman. This is after he’s spent the entire episode correcting people, mostly Lil, that he’s an international spy.
  • The Reveal: Kimi admits that she was the one who carved her and Tommy’s initials in a heart in her garage.
  • Sarcasm-Blind: Tommy sarcastically admits to carving his and Kimi’s initials into the wall and that he’s been planning for years to make a move on Kimi, his friendship with Chuckie just being a ruse. Blinded by his paranoia, Chuckie believes him.
  • Ship Tease: It’s revealed that Kimi was the one who made the carving, but she claims it was when she was much younger and that she no longer has a crush on Tommy. However, it is implied at the end that both Kimi and Tommy have more than just platonic feelings for each other.
  • Sweetie Graffiti: The events of the plot are kicked off by the group finding “TP+KF” carved into a heart in the Finsters’ garage.
  • Tempting Fate: Tommy says “This is gonna be the best Halloween ever” right before Lil finds the “TP + KF” carving.
  • Toilet Paper Prank: In the B plot, Chas is so tired of their house being toilet papered every Halloween, that he booby traps the place in order to keep the pranksters away.
