Alfred is in danger of being sentenced to death for the theft of the crown jewel, but does not dare betray Pikkie by revealing the truth. Pikkie is going through a similar inner struggle, afraid of being executed in Alfred's stead.
Tropes:
- Early-Installment Weirdness: Franz is called Prince Rohkea instead of Leijonamieli III (instead Radbout is called Leijonamieli III) in the Finnish dub, and has a completely different fur coloration from his appearances after episode 6.
- Establishing Character Moment: Krabnagel attacks Henk and tries to eat him.
- Jerkass: The soldier guarding the dungeon doesn't let Henk visit Alfred, just because he decided he didn't care that Henk had an actual permit."I don't give a fart about the law!"
- The Stool Pigeon: Alfred refuses to become this even when faced with the threat of being guillotined.
- Would Hurt a Child: Both Radboud, the judge, and all the soldiers are fine with the idea of executing an 1 year old child. Radboud doesn't even initially want to hold a trial before the execution.
