You are cordially invited to the Wedding of the Year between Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig. Finn tries to keep LSP from crashing the ceremony while Princess Bubblegum tries to prove the King of Ooo is a fraud.

Tropes

  • Anti-Climax: There's a long build up to Cinnamon Bun trying to open a cider bottle with the implication that it will explode in slapstick fashion, but the cork finally comes out with no problem.
  • Attention Whore: Lumpy Space Princess, as usual. Her reason for trying to crash the wedding was to be the centre of attention.
"Don't you get it yet, Finn? Every party... is MAH PARTY! "
  • Bait-and-Switch Comment: Cinnamon Bun was told "take these drinks around for us", so he took them around the forest... because he thought she said "Go to the zoo and back."
  • Bowdlerise: In UK airings, an awful lot of sexual content was cut (no less than ninety seconds of an eleven minute episode), including Tree Trunks's mama lusting after Mr Pig and kissing Wyatt, Tree Trunks and Mr Pig kissing too early, LSP talking about Finn touching her body, and the punch line about Tree Trunks's exhibitionism.
  • The Cameo: Jake's Pups, including Viola, Charlie, and Kim Kil Whan in their first appearance since "Jake The Dad", appear at the wedding.
  • Con Man: The King of Ooo is heavily implied to be one.
  • Continuity Nod:
    • Kim Kil Whan has a beard, as mentioned in "Jake the Dad".
    • All of the pups are now older, with Kim Kil Whan, Charlie, and Viola making their first appearances in older forms, while Jake Junior and TV were previously seen in "One Last Job"/"Another Five Short Grables" and "Jakesuit" respectively.
    • Jake is seen playing the viola for the first time since "What Was Missing", two whole seasons before.
  • Cool Old Lady: Tree Trunks' mom, who's even older than she is.
  • Cult: What the true king of Ooo apparently runs, judging by the ceremony he gives.
  • Dirty Old Woman: Tree Trunks mom, who comments on how attractive she finds her daughters fiance, then proceeds to French kiss her daughter's ex-husband while everyone's in the dungeon.
  • Do Not Taunt Cthulhu: Right or wrong, PB is an autocratic ruler with the right and means to imprison anyone who angers her. Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig anger her.
  • Exact Words:
    • The King tells Tree Trunks to "perform [her] own dang ceremony"... so she does.
    • Princess Bubblegum tells the Banana Guards to release everyone. And they do... both the wedding party and the actual criminals.
  • Fake King: Princess Bubblegum believes the King of Ooo to be this.
  • Gilligan Cut: Tree Trunks says the dungeons can't hold everyone at the wedding party. Cut to them doing exactly that.
  • Interspecies Romance: Aside from Mr. Pig, Tree Trunks had a rhino named Randy, a boar named Danny and Wyatt the Manatee.
  • Jerkass Ball: Bubblegum really comes off as antagonistic this episode. She was right about the King of Ooo being fake, but her reasons were purely out of jealously for not being the one to preside over the wedding and Tree Trunks rightly calls her out for ruining what was suppose to be her special day. PB does at least see the error of her ways and even gets some karma thrown at her for her actions.
  • Literal-Minded: When Bubblegum tells the Banana Guards to free the guests at Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig's wedding from their prison cell, she tells them "let everybody go", and the Banana Guards then proceed to free all of the other prisoners along with the wedding guests.
  • "No. Just… No" Reaction: In response to the King of Ooo accusing her of breaking into his blimp, Bubblegum says:
  • Remember the New Guy?: This is the first time we've seen or even heard of the King of Ooo, but he's well known to the others.
  • Screw This, I'm Outta Here: The King of Ooo breaks himself out of jail, rightly worried that Princess Bubblegum will "string [him] up sideways", and bails on the wedding party, telling Tree Trunks "You can perform your own dang ceremony!"
  • Wedding Episode: For Tree Trunks and Mr. Pig.
  • Wedding Smashers: Princess Bubblegum interrupts the ceremony by crashing the King of Ooo's Airship into it.
  • What the Hell, Hero?: From Tree Trunks to Princess Bubblegum, when the latter tries to stop the wedding.
