While on a trip to the library, Finn gets caught up in a battle between the Pagelings and the Moldos.

- Aerith and Bob: The two warring factions are the Secret Guardians of the Library and the Moldos. The Guardian leader's name is Pete and the Moldo leader is Mildwin.
- Arbitrary Skepticism: Jake doesn't believe Finn when he tells him about the Pagelings, in spite of the more bizarre creatures they usually encounter. Justified as he was focused on reading Rainicorn history to get to know about Lady's culture more.
- Cassandra Truth: Finn knows the Secret Guardians of the Library exist. The difficulty is convincing Jake they exist, and that Finn's not making up an adventure to get out of hanging out in the library.
- Comically Missing the Point:
Finn: (Looks for a way to save Jake from flesh eating mold) Where could I find ways to solve problems in a library? (Notices a sign that says "Books!") Books? (Returns with a large book...
and starts
hitting Jake with it). *screaming* BOOKS, BOOKS BOOKS!
- Gone Horribly Right: Finn throws the Moldos at Jake to get him to believe his stories. Jake finally notices... when the Moldos start trying to eat Jake's fur.
- Leaning on the Fourth Wall: Jake eventually gives up on trying to read a heavy textbook on rainicorn history, saying "I was reading the same paragraph for, like, eleven minutes."
- Lilliputians: The Pagelings and Moldos, from Finn's perspective.
- Not Now, Kiddo: Jake's reaction to Finn's descriptions of the entities living in the library.
- Shirtless Scene: Finn for the last scene of the episode, after he gives his shirt to the Moldos to eat.
- Wimp Fight: The battle between the Secret Guardians of the Library and the Moldos' advance guard turns into pointless flailing with tiny weapons. Finn ends the fight by blowing on the combatants.
