- Buffy Speak: Finn refers to grapes as "purple whatevers".
- I Taste Delicious: Jake eats a drawing of himself before the Jiggler can, and remarks "I taste awesome."
- Literal Metaphor: The song Finn is singing addressed to "baby" is done in a manner of many songs addressing the speaker's love interest as "baby", but here Finn's song is singing to a literal baby from a possibly parental perspective.
- Noodle Incident:
- This isn't the first time Finn and Jake have had to save Stanley the watermelon and his family from danger.
- Finn explains his Auto-Tune singing voice comes from swallowing a tiny computer.
- Our Monsters Are Weird: The Jiggler is a strange little creature that looks like two black and white balls stuck together, with four noodly limbs it can stick out of various orifices on its body. It communicates by whistling and can apparently eat drawings right off the paper.
