Arc 1 – Lost for Words
“Something terrible happened, of a scale that words cannot easily convey. We need you to look into it,” Matthew said. “No need to solve it. Simply… look into it.”

“Charles Abrams,” a woman said.
“I know,” Charles said.
“There is no shelter for you here,” the woman said. “No quest, no passage, no currency.”
“I know,” he said.

     Arc 6 – Cutting Class
Alexander:“At a cost. But I know he gave up long ago. I know he made promises out of greed, thinking she was unaware of practice, and if he did nothing he wouldn’t get his inheritance. So long as she died, the oaths would lose impact, he would have to stand up against the universe to make his arguments. And the universe is a more forgiving prosecutor than I am.”

Arc 11 – Dash to Pieces
“You weren’t here for those. We voted on whether to bring them in. You were away. If you want inclusion you have to be here,” Edith retorted.
“Did you email? Reach out?” Verona asked.
“You described Matthew erroneously as a boomer. As a spirit I am technology averse.”
“A letter? A phone call?” Verona asked.

Toadswallow went on. “I want change, upheaval among goblins. It doesn’t have to be today, but if we can carve out our ditches and dark corners and pawn off our weapons and treasures, maybe the next story shared among goblins will be a long romantic epic, as florid and detailed as many Fae works of art, ending in the stark tragedy of a man farting himself to death.”

     Arc 12 – False Moves
“He intended to weaken us with that kind of game,” John told Musser. “I was in my rights to weaken him.”
“You shot the man in the head, you said,” Musser replied.
“It left him very weak, yes. He died shortly after.”

     Arc 13 - Summer Break
John bent down, and rubbed Doglick’s head with a roughness that would have made a dog yelp and back off. “Hey you, you’re not a dog, no you aren’t. You’re not a dog at all, you seem to think you’ve got everyone here fooled, but you don’t. No you don’t.”

     Arc 14 – Fall Out
Ann frowned. “Ann Wint, already introduced. Destroyer, Chainer, and enforcer for this council. For matters too petty for our Lord, but too serious for most of our council, I handle them. I consign by Abyss and I consign by Ruin, and I wield those selfsame realms as tools against the enemies of our city.”
“Okie doke,” Avery replied.

Arc 16 - Left in the Dust
“Hazel,” he greeted me from afar, making no attempt to draw near. I did find his voice remarkable in its ordinariness, considering his appearance. “You have been at this for a while.”
