According to the Dossiers, Clem Robertjon's Innocence kept her relatively intact and alive after she became a Gilded Lily. Considering just how horrible her life has been, how much worse would it have been if she lost that Innocence?
That Mummy-Baby plaque thing is clearly a mote that's been bound. Thank God Clem had a place to put it that wasn't on her property, it could have done untold damage to her and to the rest of the building.
