Magog. That's a character that Mark Waid invented that was really just put to me like come up with the most God awful, Rob Liefeld sort of design that you can. What I was stealing from was, really only two key designs of Rob's the design of Cable. I hated it. I felt like it looked like they just threw up everything on the character, the scars, the thing going on with his eye, the arm, and what's with all the guns? But the thing is, when I put those elements together with the helmet of Shatterstar, I think that was his name well, the ram horns and the gold, suddenly it held together as one of the designs that I felt happiest with in the entire series.
Alex Ross on the creative process behind Magog.

Norman McCay: Good God, the bystanders... these aren't heroes! They're madmen! They're ready to battle over territory - - without bothering to care who's caught between them! Someone should do something!
The Spectre: Indeed.
Kingdom Come #2

And suddenly... there was a wind. No. Not a wind. A blur of motion... bending the steel of their weapons... and changing the very course of the mighty river below. Even before the bystanders freed themselves from the cablecar, they knew. We all did. We knew... and remembered.
Norman McCay witnessing the return of Superman to the public eye after ten long years of absence

I see Ragnarok at last unfold. And worst of all, I see the desperate hope of the one man who might yet stop it turned to ash and cinders... by a single bolt of lightning. Armageddon has arrived.
Norman McCay witnessing the arrival of Captain Marvel kickstarting the Final Battle

So that's what that feels like.
Batman after Superman pulls a Stealth Hi/Bye on him

Sic semper criminalis!
Magog's Pre-Mortem One-Liner to The Joker before he obliterates him with his staff.

The deliberate taking of life — even super-human life — goes against every belief I have and that you have. That's the one thing we've always had in common. It's what made us what we are. More than anyone else in the world, when you scratch everything else away from Batman, you're left with someone who doesn't want to see anybody die.
Superman, refuting Batman's argument that they should let the 'super-criminals' thin themselves out, Kingdom Come #3
