Major Anya Amasova: Commander James Bond, recruited to the British Secret Service from the Royal Navy. License to kill and has done so on numerous occasions. Many lady friends, but married only once. Wife killed--
James Bond: (bluntly) Alright, you've made your point.
Amasova: You're sensitive, Mr. Bond?
Bond: About some things, yes.

Dev... Dev... Dev... Kara's diaries were full of his smiles, the sound of his voice calling her name. The feel of his body and the labyrinth of his mind and heart. No, all this was plain for any and all to read. What was less clear was what happened to him.
Something had sent a grieving Kara Zor-El fleeing back to Rokyn, wounded in spirit and bleeding from the only place she was truly vulnerable: her heart. Something terrible had happened. And yet the diaries did not name the cause. Whether this was because there were parts of it missing... or because Kara Zor-El could not bring herself to speak of it was difficult to know. The only thing that was sure was that, beyond a certain point, the name of Dev-Em was never spoken.

My little sister was taken away from me by Hamdo's soldiers. She wasn't the only one they took. They took every single girl from the village. Afterwards, those bastards torched our houses. Our ancestral village was reduced to ashes just like that! I lost my friends, I lost my parents, they all died in the fire! My sister was sickly. I was the only one who could save her. I thought-I thought I could get her back when they weren't looking. But it was too late! I found my sister abandoned in the middle of the desert. Her illness had proven too much trouble for them. She died of dehydration. Her body-her body had been eaten away by animals! I could only pray she hadn't suffered...I could only hope the animals hadn't gotten to her before she died. That's all I could do...I heard my family scream as they burned to death, I heard my sister cry when they took her, their voices never leave me! Live a peaceful life!? That's impossible! It's much too late for that now. As long as Hamdo is alive there's only one choice. We're going to kill him. No matter what."
Elamba explaining to Shu just why he keeps fighting Hellywood, Now and Then, Here and There

I've lived in a world of death. I tried to come home, but I never really arrived. A part of my mind and soul got lost along the way, but my heart was still here where I was born, where I would defend to the end the only family I've ever known, the only home I've ever known. All the ones I've loved are now ghosts. But I will fight to keep their memory alive forever.
