    #-L
  • Adventure Time:
    • Fans started doing this since around mid season 1. Fubblegum (Finn/Princess Bubblegum), Marcefinn or Finnceline (Marceline/Finn), Finname Princess or Flinn (Finn/Flame Princess), Fionninn (Finn/Fionna), and Bubbline or Marcibel (Bubblegum/Marceline).
    • Even some genderswapped pairs get their own portmanteaus. The genderswapped versions of Finn and Marceline, Fionna and Marshall Lee, have the ship name of Fiolee. Likewise, genderswapped Bubblegum and Marceline, Prince Gumball and Marshall Lee, go by the ship names of Marball, Gumshall, or Gumlee.
    • Other pairings popular enough to acquire names include Petrigrof (Simon Petrikov/Betty Grof), Frusan (Susan Strong/Frieda), Tiffinny (Finn/Tiffany Oiler), Lumpygrab (Lumpy Space Princess/Lemongrab), and the endgame Official Couple Finntress (Finn/Huntress Wizard).
  • The Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog fandom sometimes uses "Scrounder" when referring to the pairing of Robotnik's inept hench-robots, Scratch and Grounder.
  • In-Universe example in All Hail King Julien, when King Julien and Crimson start dating, reporter Xixi dubs this couple with the extremely unwieldy name of "Cring Msulien", as if "King" is part of Julien's name.
  • The Amazing World of Gumball:
    • In-Universe: In "The Storm", when Masami asks Alan if he prefers the name "Alasami" or "Masalan". Also, in "The Shippening"; when Sarah's shipping stories come to life and one of them shows a future Gumball with Carrie, Darwin gets mad at the real Gumball for stealing Carrie from him, since "It's supposed to be Carwin, not Carball!"
    • Out of universe: Gumball and Penny = Gumnny, Larry and Mr. Small = Smallarry.
  • Amphibia:
    • Used in-universe (but platonically) by BFFs Sprig and Anne. "Spranne against the world!"
    • In "Dating Season", Sprig and Ivy's families conspire to get them together - either for business reasons or, in Anne's case, from reading too many dating magazines.
Anne: This is so exciting! I wonder what their ship name will be? Ivig? Sprigivy?
Polly: What are you even saying?!
    • "Sprivy" is the canonical couple name...and was even the title of an episode!
  • Arcane: Along with Piltover's Finest, a lot of shippers refer to Caitlyn/Vi as "Caitvi".
  • Avatar: The Last Airbender:
    • It's all but a written rule for every Avatar: The Last Airbender online forum to include a "Kataang" (Katara/Aang) vs. "Zutara" (Zuko/Katara) poll, with "Maiko" (Mai/Zuko) and "Zukaang" (Zuko/Aang) sometimes moving up in the ranks to join the fray.
    • One notable demonstration of the trope was the ComicCon Avatar shipping panel, which went on to, using a ludicrous amount of Portmanteau Couple Naming, identify every ship in existence... and then some.
    • Parodied in "The Cave of Two Lovers," where it is revealed the city of Omashu was named after Star-Crossed Lovers Oma and Shu.
    • Ones that involve Toph tends to sound really cool/funny. There's Tokka (Toph/Sokka), Taang (Toph/Aang), Toko (Toph/Zuko), Katoph (Katara/Toph), and Toki (Toph/Suki).
      • Joked about by the creators in a DVD Commentary. They point out a friendly interaction between Toph and The Duke, then surmise it could be a Ship Tease.
What do you call that one? "Doph"? "Tuke"?
    • Jetara (Jet/Katara), Yuet (Yue/Jet, who were each basically one-episode season-one love interests originally and of course have never met), Smellershot OR Longbee (Smellerbee/Longshot), Zukka (Zuko/Sokka), Sukka (pronounced Sooka, Suki/Sokka), etc. Everyone is shipped in ATLA fandom. Including Zuko/Azula, also known as Azuko or Zucest.
    • On tv.com, The fandom couldn't decide between Sokki and Sukka because they sounded too much like either character's name, so a compromise was made. They call it George.
    • Azula related: Tyzula (Azula/Ty Lee), Azutara (Azula/Katara), Azulaang (Azula/Aang), and Sokkla (Azula/Sokka).
    • There's also Maitara (Mai/Katara) and, parodying Maiko, Maikoh (Mai/Koh the Face Stealer).
    • Even before the sequel The Legend of Korra aired, fans were already coming up with ship portmanteaus:
      • There's the canon Pemzin (Pema/Tenzin), Tonna or Senraq (Tonraq/Senna, Korra's parents), P'heer (P'li/Zaheer), Kainora (Jinora/Kai), Bopal (Bolin/Opal), and Korrasami (Korra/Asami) the sailed-and-sunk Linzin or Tenlin (Tenzin/Lin), Beska or Boleska (Bolin/Eska), and Makorra (Mako/Korra), the sailed, sunk, briefly refloated, and sunk again Masami (Mako/Asami), the briefly Ship Teased but ultimately one-sided Borra (Bolin/Korra), and other fan favorites including Bosami (Bolin/Asami), Irosami (General Iroh/Asami), Broh (Bolin/General Iroh), and Tahnorra (Tahno/Korra), as well as crackships like Amorra (Amon/Korra), Korrlok (Korra/Tarrlok), Makolin (Mako/Bolin), Howrra (Howl, the fan nickname for a White Lotus guard, and Korra), and Makoperator (Mako/A police switchboard operator, based on a joke on a DVD commentary). And that's just scratching the surface.
      • Makorrasami exists as a way to "resolve" the eternal war that is Makorra vs. Masami vs. Korrasami... which, of course, only ends making those three groups VERY mad by involving the "extra wheel" as seen in each ship.
  • The Backyardigans: Tyroqua or Tyroniqua (Tyrone/Uniqua), Austasha (Austin/Tasha), Auniqua or Austiqua (Austin/Uniqua) and Tyrosha (Tyrone/Tasha). Poor Pablo.
  • "Bevin" for the Ben/Kevin ship in Ben 10. "Bwen" is sometimes used to describe the Ben/Gwen ship, and there's "Kilgax" for... Kevin/Vilgax. And then there's Gwevin/Kwevin to describe Kevin and Gwen. Ben and Julie, the only couple to date to actually get together, which took some time to earn its following, is now referred to as Benlie. Surprisingly the first canonical pairing in the series, Ben/Kai, is quite popular among the fans but still has no shipping name.
  • Big Hero 6: The Series:
  • The small but determined fandom for Buzz Lightyear of Star Command has endless ships and endless names, some of which are half portmanteau, half Idiosyncratic Ship Naming: Beer (Buzz/Mira), Burger (Buzz/Zurg), Wine (Warp/Mira), Marred (Mira/XR), Grape (Gravitina/Warp), Big Mac (Romac/Mira)... Due to numerous characters, that's only a fraction of the list.
  • Code Lyoko isn't as heavy on the portmanteau names, but prefers initial-x-initial format. Just take a main character's first initial and put them on either side of the "x"; for example, UxY means Ulrich and Yumi, OxS means Odd and Sissi (or Sam, or Setsuna)), etc. Most of the time, fans will know what you're talking about. Besides referring to Jeremie and Aelita as JxA, some fans have also used the term Jerlita (including their mutual voice actor Sharon Mann, who uses it as her handle when stopping by LyokoFreak).
  • Doug has "Doger" for Doug/Roger.
  • The Fairly OddParents! has TimToot for Timmy/Tootie and TimTrix for Timmy/Trixie.
  • Family Guy has "Brewie" (Brian/Stewie).
  • Futurama has Freela (Fry/Leela), Fender (Fry/Bender), Leeler (Leela/Bender), and Frapp (Fry/Zapp). In the episode "Murder on the Planet Express", the (platonic) team-ups of Fry and Bender, Leela and Amy, and Hermes and Zoidberg separately gave themselves the names "Frender," "Lamy" and "Hermberg," respectively.
  • The Ghost and Molly McGee:
    • Some of the most popular ships are Mollibby (Molly/Libby) and Molldrea/Mondrea/Mollandrea (Molly/Andrea)
    • In-universe. Molly's friends have taken to calling her and Oliver (or Ollie) "Mollie," even before they're actually dating because they just make such a cute couple. Molly's confused since "that's just [her] name" until she thinks about it for a few seconds. As for the fandom’s part, “Molliver” is also a more accepted ship name.
  • Gravity Falls:
    • In-Universe example: Soos wonders if the new popular power couple in town, Mabel and Lil' Gideon, will be called "Mabideon", "Gideabel", or the jaw-breaking "Magidbelion". Also, Mabel created the animal couple "Wompers" (Waddles/Gompers.)
    • Fans have created names such as "Mermabel" (Mabel/Mermando), "Candydip" (Candy/Dipper), "Wendipper"or " Wendip"(Wendy/Dipper), "Dipeon" (Dipper/Gideon), "Dipcifica" (Dipper/Pacifica) and "Billdip" (Bill Cipher/Dipper).
    • (Dipper/Pacifica/Mabel) "Pinecifica Sandwich"... Yeah, that's a thing.
  • Grojband fans have Corney (Corey and Laney), also known as Caney or Lancore.
  • Iron Man: Armored Adventures has Pepperony (Pepper/Tony), Gepper (Gene/Pepper), Whitony (Whitney/Tony), and Rhodney (Rhodey/Whitney). Pepperony is also used in the comic book and movie incarnations.
  • The Invader Zim fandom had a more creative idea: Instead of fusing the names together, they had acronyms such as in ZADR, which stands for 'Zim and Dib Romance'. Other pairings then used this formula (ZAGR, DATR, DADR, etc.) Mainly because names consisting of only two consonants and a vowel in the middle are hard to fuse together.
  • Kaeloo fans have Kaelat (Kaeloo and Mr. Cat), also known as Chaka (instead using Mr. Cat's French name, Monsieur Chat).
  • Kim Possible:
    • The most popular couple in the fandom is "KiGo", or Kim/Shego. A common Ship Mate for KiGo is RoRi, or Ron/Yori which was actually canon on Yori's side for a little while in the series.
    • Crack Pairings that also get the portmanteau treatment are "Rokken" (Ron/Drakken) and "Drakkim" (Drakken/Kim). Yes, they exist.
    • Strangely enough, one of the few ships on this show that doesn't fall prey to this trope is the Official Couple of Kim/Ron (although there is the option of KiRo, which sounds similar to other pairings, such as KiGo, KiMo, KiYo...): a simple K/R suffices (out of the possible combinations, "Rim" or "Kin" would both sound silly and have odd implications).
  • The Looney Tunes Show is often believed to be responsible for the Baffy (Bugs/Daffy) ship becoming popular.
  • The Loud House:
    • If a ship involves Lincoln at all, it will have one of these:
      • Ronnie Anne/Lincoln = Ronniecoln. Became ascended in The Casagrandes Movie, where Ronnie Anne has a playlist labeled "Ronniecoln".
      • Cristina/Lincoln = Cristincoln.
      • Clyde/Lincoln = Clincoln McCloud, their In-Universe friendship name starting with "Intern for the Worse". Any ships between Clyde and the Loud sisters use a similar template, being C[insert Loud sibling name here] McCloud.
      • Lynn/Lincoln = Lynncoln.
      • Luan/Lincoln = Luancoln.
      • Lucy/Lincoln = Lincy or Lucycoln.
      • Luna/Lincoln = Lunacoln.
      • Leni/Lincoln = Lenicoln.
      • Lori/Lincoln = Loricoln or Lincori.
      • Twins/Lincoln = Twincoln.
      • Lola/Lincoln = Lolacoln.
      • Lana/Lincoln = Lanacoln.
      • Lisa/Lincoln = Lisacoln.
      • Lily/Lincoln = Lilycoln.
      • Any of the four Sadie Hawkins date/Lincoln = Pollycoln (Polly Pain), Tabbycoln (Tabby), Gigglescoln (Giggles) and Haicoln (Haiku).
      • Lincoln's crush in "L is For Love" Paige/Lincoln = Paigecoln.
      • Lincoln/Girl Jordan = Jordacoln.
      • Lincoln/Stella = Stellcoln.
    • The sisters get this too when paired with each other. The most popular ones include:
      • Lori/Leni (Loreni/Lenori)
      • Luna/Luan (Luana/Lunan)
      • Luna/Lynn (Lynnuna)
      • Lynn/Lucy (Lynnucy)
      • Lola/Lana (Lanola)
    • In-Universe, besides Clincoln McLoud, Clyde has also gotten Clach McGurdle with Zach and Cacholn McClurdle, Zlydcon McGloudle, and Lydach LurdleMc with Zach and Lincoln. Zach and Rusty also use Zusty Spurdles as their friendship name, and in The Really Loud House, Rusty comes up with Crusty McSpokes as a potential name for himself and Clyde.
    • Leni/Carlota: In "Fashion No Show", Leni coins "Team Carleni" to refer to her friendship with Carlota. Later, Mariella refers to them as "Team Lenota" instead, which Carlota admits has a nice ring to it.

    M-Z
  • The Magic School Bus: Ralphie/Wanda = Rwanda.
  • Parodied in Metalocalypse: In the episode "Girlfriendklok", Nathan Explosion dates a celebrity named Rebecca Nightrod, and the portmanteau name "Natebecca" is created by obese middle-aged women (or alternatively, "Rebasplosion").
    • Also used by the show's fandom for shipping, the most popular being Skwistok (Skwisgaar/Toki) and Nickles (Nathan/Pickles).
  • /Miraculous Ladybug:
    • The Two-Person Love Square between Marinette/Ladybug and Adrien/Cat Noir, fans use different names for their various interactions. Romance between them in their civilian identities is Adrinette or Adrienette; if they're both in hero disguise, it's Ladynoir. Romance between Ladybug and Adrien is Ladrien, while Marinette and Cat Noir is Maricat. The different sides of the characters that come out depending on whether they're acting as their civilian or hero selves makes it so that the dynamic can be very different depending on who's suited and who isn't; each combination is a very different animal from the others.
    • Adrien/Nino = Adrino, while Cat Noir/Nino = Ninoir.
    • Adrien/Alya = Alyadrien
    • Adrien/Nathaniel = Adrinath, while Cat Noir/Nathaniel = CatNath.
    • Adrien/Luka = Lukadrien.
    • Adrien/Kagami = Kagadrien or Adrigami
    • Marinette/Luka = Lukanette
    • Marinette/Kagami = Kagaminette
    • Marinette/Alya = Alyanette, while Ladybug/Alya = Alyabug. Fans who avert the One-Mario Limit and use Lila's Akumatized name for Fox Alya refer to Marinette/Fox Alya as Volpinette, and Ladybug/Fox Alya as Volpibug, which causes some overlap with the L Square below. Since the TFOU leaks in August revealed Alya's heroine name to be Rena Rouge, it's likely the ship names will change to reflect that.
    • Marinette/Chloé = Chlonette, while Ladybug/Chloé = Chlobug. Chloé's Bee heroine Fan Nickname is Queen Bee, Marinette/Queen Bee = Maribee, and Ladybug/Queen Bee = Ladybee. Her official name was leaked in August as Queen B, which may not affect the present ship names.
    • Marinette and Lila constitute the L Square, created before the SDCC 2016 spoilers confirmed Lila wouldn't be the Fox Miraculous holder. Marinette/Lila = Lilanette, Marinette/Volpina = Volpinette, Ladybug/Volpina = Volpibug, and Ladybug/Lila = Lilabug.
    • There is also the massively controversial Sin Square comprising of Gabriel Agreste and Marinette. Gabriel/Marinette = Gabrinette, Gabriel/Ladybug = Gabribug, Hawk Moth/Ladybug = Ladyhawk, and Hawk Moth/Marinette = Marimoth.
    • Juleka/Rose = Julerose
    • Kim/Alix = Kimalix
    • Kim/Max = Kimax
    • Kim/Ondine = Kimdine
    • Mylène/Ivan = Myvan
    • Chloé/Sabrina = Chlobrina
    • Chloé/Nathaniel = Chlonath
    • Nathaniel/Marc = Natharc
    • Nathaniel/Alix = Nalix
    • Sabrina/Nathaniel = Sabrinath
    • Lila/Félix = Lilix
    • Gabriel/Nathalie = Gabenath. Hawk Moth/Mayura = Hawkyura is generally used interchangeably rather than being a separate dynamic, often because of confusion between Nathaniel and Nathalie.
    • Félix/Kagami = Féligami
  • Moon Girl and Devil Dinosaur (2023): Lunella and Casey are sometimes referred to as "Lucase" by shippers.
  • My Little Pony: Friendship Is Magic:
    • Unlike fans of other My Little Pony generations, G4 fans do this. It bears mentioning that some of the portmanteaus (like "AppleDash") could be legit names of actual characters in this universe.
    • There is also Twiluna (Twilight and Luna), Twixie (Twilight and Trixie), DashiePie/PinkieDash (Rainbow Dash and Pinkie), TwiShy (Twilight/Fluttershy), Rarishy or Flarity (Rarity/Fluttershy), Rarijack (Rarity/Applejack), FlutterDash (Rainbow Dash/Fluttershy), Shinadence (Shining Armor/Cadence, sometimes called "Canon", because they're one of the few completely canon pairings), Dislestia or Celesticord (Celestia/Discord), ChrysCord (Chrysalis/Discord), SoarinDash (Soarin'/Rainbow Dash), Sparity (Spike/Rarity), FlutterMac (Fluttershy/Big Macintosh), CheeriMac (Cheerilee/Big Macintosh), ChrySombra (Chrysalis/King Sombra), Shyceps or Flutterbulk (Fluttershy and Bulk Biceps), and many, many more.
    • Some are quite punny, like ApplePie (Applejack/Pinkie Pie, which was impacted by a later episode implying they might be related titled, appropriately enough, "Pinkie Apple Pie"), Twinkie (Twilight/Pinkie Pie), FlashLight (Twilight/Flash Sentry), SunLight (Twilight/Sunset Shimmer), DiscoLight (Twilight/Discord), Celerity (Celestia/Rarity), and CheesePie (Cheese Sandwich/Pinkie Pie). Not to mention Charity (Cheerilee/Rarity) — Rarity is the element of Generosity, after all.
  • The The Owl House fandom has become deeply attached to Lumity (Luz/Amity), to the point that the shipping name is commonly used as the name for the pair's future daughter.
    • As of the season 3 premiere, this has become one of the rare Portmanteau Couple Names to appear in canon, with Luz using it in a video telling her mother about her relationship with Amity. Of course, given Luz's Ascended Fangirl status, it's only natural that she would come up with one for herself and her girlfriend.
  • The Penguins of Madagascar: Skilene for Skipper the penguin and Marlene the otter.
  • Phineas and Ferb:
    • Phinbella/Phinabella/Phinebella (Phineas/Isabella) and Canderemy/Jandace (Candace/Jeremy). And for a Foe Yay Shipping example, Doofenperry or Perryshmirtz (Doofenshmirtz/Perry).
    • "Canderemy" was actually an episode title in Season 3, and "Phinbella"/"Phinabella" have been used by the show's creators and writers on Twitter and later appeared in a Season 4 Phineas/Isabella duet., so those seem to be the "official" portmanteaux.
    • Some more examples, this time with the Fireside Girls: Fertchen for Ferb/Gretchen, and Phineatie for Phineas/Katie (yes, there are people who ship that).
    • Others include Starl for Stacy/Carl, Irvabella for Irving/Isabella, Carlgram for Monogram/Carl, Ferbnessa/Ferbessa for Ferb/Vanessa, and Buljeet or less commonly, Balford for Baljeet/Buford.
  • The ship between Pinky and the Brain's title characters is called "Brinky".
  • The Powerpuff Girls fans usually use Idiosyncratic Ship Naming. This works because the three most popular couples - Brick/Blossom, Butch/Buttercup, and Boomer/Bubbles - share a colour scheme. They're referred to as "[the] reds", "[the] greens", and "[the] blues". For less common ships where this practice can't be used, fans instead opt for this:
    • Brickubbles (Brick/Bubbles), Butchubbles (Butch/Bubbles), Brickercup (Brick/Buttercup), Boomecup (Boomer/Buttercup), Blossomer (Blossom/Boomer), and Blossutch (Blossom/Butch).
  • Recess: T.J./Spinelli = Tinelli.
  • Regular Show has a few: Mordaret or Mordegret (Mordecai/Margaret), Cloudycai (Mordecai/CJ), Morby (Mordecai/Rigby), Mordeson or Mordenson (Mordecai/Benson), Rigleen (Rigby/Eileen), Benpops (Benson/Pops), and Benskips (Benson/Skips). There's also the Crossover Ship MordeTwi (Mordecai/Twilight Sparkle).
  • Samurai Jack: The ship between Jack and Ashi is referred to as Jashi.
  • Scooby-Doo: Fraphne or Dafred (Fred/Daphne), Shelma (Shaggy/Velma), Frelma (Fred/Velma) and Shaphne (Shaggy/Daphne) have all been used.
  • She-Ra and the Princesses of Power has Catradora for Catra/Adora, Glimmadora for Glimmer/Adora, Scorptra for Scorpia/Catra, and Entrapdak for Entrapta/Hordak.
  • Sherlock Holmes in the 22nd Century: Sherlock Holmes/Beth Lestrade has been commonly known in the past as "H/L", but "Sherbeth" is now gaining traction.
  • The Simpsons:
    • Non-ship and non-language-related example: A visual portmanteau was used to create the in-universe logo for Mr. Sparkle brand dishwashing detergent. The product was a joint venture of Matsumura Fishworks and Tamaribuchi Heavy Manufacturing Concern. The goggle-eyes and wispy lines of the former's logo combined with the yellowish lightbulb of the latter's to form a shockingly Homer-esque spokes-character. Homer spent an episode haunted by it, trying to figure out why what looked like his face was being used as a mascot. He was...underwhelmed by the aforementioned explanation.
Bart: (to Homer) There's your answer, fish-bulb.
    • Nedna, for Ned Flanders and Bart's teacher, Edna Krabappel, which has been used in advertising.
  • South Park:
    • South Park fans seem to favor ship names that can be actual words: Style (Stan/Kyle), Bunny (Butters/Kenny), Creek (Craig/Tweek), Candy (Cartman/Wendy), Dip (Pip/Damien), Cutters (Cartman/Butters), Bendy (Wendy/Bebe). Most of the rest are silly portmanteau names (Kyman for Kyle/Cartman, Stendy for Stan/Wendy, Stenny for Stan/Kenny) or simply the initial-slash-initial format.
    • Stolovan is used for pairing Kevin Stoley and Clyde Donovan. Then there's K2 or K squared for Kenny/Kyle.
  • SpongeBob SquarePants:
    • For het pairings, SpongeBob/Sandy makes "Spandy" and Squidward/Sandy is "Squandy" or "Squindy".
    • As for the Ho Yay variants, there's SpongePat (SpongeBob/Patrick) and SpongeSquid (SpongeBob/Squidward), or PatBob and SquidBob for less character-consuming variants. The term Squidill for Squidward/Squilliam is also used every now and then.
  • Star vs. the Forces of Evil: Oh boy, where to start?
    • The main character pairing is Starco (Star/Marco), which has been used within canon. However, a twitter livechat with Daron Nefcy (the show's creator) suggested "Marar" as an alternative name.
    • For Marco and Jackie, either Jarco or Mackie. Jarco is the more common of the two.
    • For Tom and Star, Tomstar or Startom.
    • For Marco and Kelly, Markelly or Kellyco.
    • For Hekapoo and Marco, generally Markapoo.
    • For Tom and Marco, it's usually Tomco.
    • Other ship names include Oskstar (Oskar and Star), Janco (Janna and Marco), Janstar (Janna and Star), Starkie (Star and Jackie), Tomkie (Tom and Jackie), Jantom (Janna and Tom) and finally, Marclipsa (Marco and Eclipsa).
  • Star Wars: The Clone Wars: There's Luxsoka (Lux/Ahsoka), Rexsoka (Rex/Ahsoka), Obisoka, Anisoka, Plosoka (Ahsoka with Obi-Wan, Anakin, or Plo Koon, respectively), and Cadsoka (Cad Bane/Ahsoka). And that's not even all the people Ahsoka's been paired with. Anidala (Anakin/Padme) carries over from the films, and there's also Obitine (Obi-Wan/Satine).
  • Star Wars Rebels has quite a lot this:
  • Steven Universe:
    • Fans often called the Steven/Connie ship "Stevonnie" - which became complicated when an actual character with that name showed up (Stevonnie being the result of a literal Fusion Dance between the two, to be precise). Since then, fans have taken a liking to "Connverse".
    • While the Ruby/Sapphire ship also has an Idiosyncratic Ship Name, Garnet (their Fusion), to distinguish between the character and the pairing, many fans prefer to call their pairing "Rupphire" or something similar.
    • Other ship portmanteaus are "Larsadie" or "Sars" for Lars/Sadie, "Ronlars" for Ronaldo/Lars, "Pearlmethyst" for Pearl/Amethyst, "Lapidot" for Lapis Lazuli/Peridot, "Jaspidot" for Jasper/Peridot, "Jaspis" for Jasper/Lapis, "Pearlnet" for Pearl/Garnet, "Prose" or "Pearlrose" for Pearl/Rose, "Amedot" for Amethyst/Peridot, and "Grose" or "Gregrose" for, you guessed it, Greg/Rose.
    • Some ship portmanteaus use more than one word: "Mystery Pearl" for Mystery Girl/Pearl, "Bellow Diamond" for Blue Diamond/Yellow Diamond, and "Bellow Pearl" for Blue Pearl/Yellow Pearl.
  • In Super Robot Monkey Team Hyperforce Go!, Sprx/Nova, by far the most popular pairing on the show, is "Spova." There are also names for the pairings between all of the other main/recurring characters, and many of the minor ones.
  • Sym-Bionic Titan: Fan-Preferred Couple Lance/Ilana is known as "Ilanca", while Official Couple Octus/Kimmy is "Kimmus".
  • Teen Titans doesn't lend itself to interesting mash-up names. The fans usually combine the first syllables of each name, like Rob/Star (Robin/Starfire) or do a nickname thing like BB/Rae (Beast Boy/Raven) the rare example of a true Portmanteau Couple Name would be Flinx (Kid Flash/Jinx) or anything with Cyborg in it (Starborg, Bumbleborg, etc.) "Raveast" is also popular for Beast Boy/Raven.
  • 3-2-1 Penguins! fans took some liberties naming some of the pairings due to the first three Penguins' names rhyming, e.g. ZidgMidge (Zidgel/Midgel), ZidgFidge (Zidgel/Fidgel), and MidgFidge (Midgel/Fidgel).
  • Total Drama:
    • The fandom has this only, interestingly, for crack couples; a canon or popular pairing, like Gwen/Trent or Gwen/Duncan, tends to be abbreviated simply as G/T or G/D, while crack couples are generally called things like Ezzy (Ezekiel/Izzy), LeDunca (Leshawna/Duncan) or Noah/Cody (Nody, NoCo or NOCO).
    • However, the TDA special had canon examples of Duncan/Courtney (or "Duncney"), and Geoff/Bridgette (as "Gigette").
    • In "Greece's Pieces", Sierra refers to "Gwuncan" and wonders if she and Cody should be "Coderra" or "Siody." (The fandom uses the former.)
    • Throughout Total Drama All-Stars, Sierra hallucinates Cameron as Cody and begins addressing him by fusions of their names. At one point she calls him "Camody" and refers to their eventual relationship as "Camsierra'ody."
    • These names are all over the fandom. It's interesting to note that it is more common for slash pairings to be composed of the first syllables of names, each separately capitalized, such as NoCo, DunNo, DunTrent, DunHar, ect, while most het pairings would have names sounding like one word, such as Nizzy, Trindsay, Nisay, Gody, Deva, Bridgekiel, Noette, Tytie, ect. However, Alejandro has spawned several names in the slash style, even if they are het, such as AleHeather, AleDuncan, AleNoah, AleCourt, AlePineapple, ect. and femslash pairings will usually have het style names, such as Gwidgette, Evizzy, Britney, ect. In addition, there are some slash pairings in the het style, such as Nody or Chref.
    • The fans of the Spin-Off Total Drama Presents: The Ridonculous Race are keeping this tradition alive with names like Nemma, Jacsee, MacSanders and RockSpud.
  • Transformers:
    • Amongst slash fans, MOP (Megatron/Optimus Prime) is a common fan term. Another one is MegaStar or MegaScream for Megatron/Starscream.
    • Micron Legend has StAl for Starscream/Alexis on the Japanese side.
  • The Venture Bros. has an in-universe example. When Molotov Cocktease begins dating the villain Monstroso, Shore Leave coins the name "Molostro" for them. He also proposes "Monstrotov".
    • Of the named ships in the fandom, Brock Samson/Rusty Venture is "Brusty", while Pete White/Billy Quizboy is simply "Petebilly".
  • Voltron: Legendary Defender:
    • The two main ships in the fandom are Klance (Keith/Lance) and Sheith (Shiro/Keith), with the rare few shipping Shance (Shiro/Lance).
    • For Allura ships, there's the canon Allurance (Allura/Lance), the teased-then-sunk Lotura (Lotor/Allura), the made-incompatible Shallura (Shiro/Allura), and even Kallura (Keith/Allura) and Pallura (Pidge/Allura).
    • For other ships, there's Hidge (Hunk/Pidge), Shidge (Shiro/Pidge), Plance (Pidge/Lance), Kidge (Keith/Pidge), Hunay (Hunk/Shay), and Lancelot (Lance/Lotor).
  • We Bare Bears: Two of the most popular ships in the fandom are Panlie (Panda/Charlie) and Grizznom (Grizz/Nom Nom).
  • For Winx Club
    • Skoom (Sky and Bloom)
    • Brella (Brandon and Stella)
    • Rivusa (Musa and Riven)
