"You up all night, tossing, turning - trouble getting to sleep, trouble falling asleep? Welcome. This is Sleep With Me: the podcast that's here to put you to sleep. We do it with a bedtime story."

A podcast created by Drew Ackerman and hosted by his persona "Dearest Scooter," Sleep With Me is meant to be used as a calming remedy for insomnia. Unlike most sleep aid series (which tend to fall under the ASMR category), Scooter's way of helping you fall asleep can best be described as "bedtime stories for adults". Every episode features Scooter as he rambles about a certain topic, meandering his way through a jungle of false starts, weird tangents, and unnecessary asides, all told in a lulling, soothing voice that is part Bob Ross and part bored DMV clerk. The point of all this is to distract the listeners from how anxious or stressed they are, lulling them into paying a little bit of attention to the story, but not so much that they become engrossed, allowing them to drift off into sleep.

  • Attention Deficit... Ooh, Shiny!: The reason the narrative is so circuitous is because Scooter constantly gets sidetracked by himself.
  • The Bore: Invoked by Dearest Scooter: His dreary, roundabout way of talking and mundane topics of discussion are that way specifically so the listener can comfortably put the podcast into the background and not get too engrossed in what Scooter is saying, in the same way someone would fall asleep to a teacher's lecture.
  • Cloudcuckoolander:
  • Content Warning: Obviously, the stuff warned about isn’t nearly as bad as most things that warrant one, but sometimes the description advises people to skip episodes with elements that could keep them awake (such as ambient noise in on-location pods and the death of Santa Claus in the first “Claude Neon Reports”.
  • Metaphorgotten: Scooter's metaphors start off well, but usually end up like his stories: rambling, tangled, and no idea how it started.
  • Nap-Inducing Speak: The whole point of the podcast.
  • Paralysis by Analysis: Scooter will often become engrossed in analyzing the meaning of a word or phrase.
  • Punny Name: Dearest Scooter, your "bore-friend."
  • Stylistic Suck: The only podcast that tries to put you to sleep.
