Basic Trope: A character realizes that he has something worth living for.

  • Straight: Donald realizes that life is worth living.
  • Exaggerated: Donald becomes a paranoid survivalist in pursuit of his new goal of not dying, despite having only recently found his cause to live.
  • Downplayed: Donald still wants to die, but acknowledges he has unfinished business and would prefer to be safe rather than sorry.
  • Justified: Donald realizes his relatives/friends would be sad if he commited suicide.
  • Inverted: Donald realizes that life is not worth living for.
  • Subverted: Donald realizes that life is worth living for... NOT!
  • Double Subverted: Independently, no single cause is enough to drive Donald to carry on. However, he eventually finds enough separate reasons to keep living that he decides he can find some measure of peace in life.
  • Parodied: Donald realizes his mum's pie is so delicious is worth living for.
  • Zig Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Donald has no realization about life being worth living.
  • Enforced: The Moral Guardians are not comfortable with depicting suicide on-screen, even in the context of heroics. Donald is therefore given Character Development to avoid this possibility.
  • Lampshaded: "I see that you found the proper attitude for life."
  • Invoked: ???
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: "I won't subscribe to this lesson that life is worth living. You're just saying that because you want me to stop moping around!"
  • Discussed: ???
  • Conversed: ???
  • Deconstructed: Donald only comes to this realisation after having already arranged events so that he dies.
  • Played For Drama: Threats that Donald sought out before are now legitimately terrifying for him.
