- Werewolves feel good right after they transform, which is usually on a full moon, and their immediate response is to howl.
- In werewolf societies, the moon is an object of worship - howling to it is how they show their respects.

- Subverted: A pack of wolves is seen howling when the moon is out. However, in a Surprisingly Realistic Outcome, it's for an unrelated reason.
