- Parodied: Will has no idea what the phrase "Fire at will!" actually means, and becomes completely hysterical whenever he hears it.
- Zig-Zagged: Sometimes, people mistake "Hu" for "Who", and vice versa, other times not.
- Averted: Characters in the story have names like Hu, Yoo, Wai, Watt, and Wen, and yet characters have no communication issues despite how those words sound like pronouns.
- Enforced: "This is a comedy, and he's called Hu. We have to make a joke out of that!"
