Basic Trope: A team of heroic monsters, feared by all but a small group of secret keepers, fight crime in a modern city.

  • Straight: The Kung-Fu Koalas Kevin, Bruce and Wallace, a group of alien koalas, defend Detroit from threats like the evil alien kangaroo Riller Roo and his henchmen. They are helped in these endeavors by their Secret-Keeper human friends, junkyard owner Thrash and his daughter Becky.
  • Exaggerated: All the worlds' team of crime fighters solely consists of anthropomorphic animals.
  • Downplayed: The Kung-Fu Koalas are alien koalas that fight crime. However, their existence isn't a secret and no one really treats them as that unusual.
