Basic Trope: A character who otherwise thinks they are straight finds another member of the same sex attractive.
- Straight: Bob is in a loving relationship with Alice, but when looking at their neighbour Fred, Bob can't help but think about this well-toned body.
- Exaggerated: Bob, is someone who thinks he is straight, but when looking at every attractive male in his neighbourhood, he can't help but find them dreamy.
- '''Downplayed'": Bob does like Fred's body, but in a case of admiration and awe, the attractive part for Bob is just a bonus.
- Justified: Fred is a Closet Key for Bob.
- Inverted: Bob is blatantly gay, but when seeing Alice, he can't help but find her lovely.
- Implied: Bob, a side character constantly stares at Fred's chest, but so far he hasn't commented on it.
- Subverted: Alice asks Bob if he finds Fred attractive, examining the pictures pined to the corkboard, but Bob, being apart of a detective agency notes that the reason such photos of Fred are on the board is because the murder happened at a swimming pool and Fred was there.
- Double Subverted:... Only when Alice is gone then Bob goes ahead and Stares at Fred's chest.
- Parodied: Bob is certain that he is straight, but at the same time he dresses flamboyantly, reads a ton of yaoi, and enjoys hanging out in changing rooms, he still insists that he is straight.
- Zig Zagged: When Fred dresses normally Bob dosen't give a second thought on him, but the second he takes his shirt off...
- Averted: Bob only finds women attractive.
- Enforced: "Let's add some subtext that will eventually lead to Bob comping out of the closet!"
- Lampshaded: "He says he loves ladies, then why is he staring into Fred's chest?!"
- Invoked: Bob goes with Fred to a swimming pool, and then they head into the change room...
- Exploited: Fred, being the murderer realizes what is happening, so he consistently takes his shirt off near Bob, to distract him.
- Defied: Fred is truly nice and wants to help Bob solve the case, so Fred puts on his shirt more often so Bob can focus on his case.
- Discussed: "I have noticed that Bob stares at Fred's chest quite often, does this mean he is bisexual?"
- Conversed: "Ah classic queer baiting, considering that this is the 80's I doubt Bob's stares will lead to anything.''
- Deconstructed: Bob is a Knight Templar so he goes on a rampage trying to cure himself of his sin.
- Reconstructed: If It's You, It's Okay
