Basic Trope: An alien or fantasy creature has a bodily substance (sweat, poop, drool, etc) that is valuable to humans.
- Straight: Alice the fairy poops gold.
- Exaggerated: Alice poops gold, sweats Healing Potion, cries liquid nitrogen, vomits oil, sneezes coins, drools liquid silver, bleeds Cool, Clear Water, and pees mercury.
- Downplayed:
- Alice poops already-processed fertilizer.
- Alice is the only fairy who poops gold.
- Alice's poop contains partially digested coffee beans that make for a highly sought after coffee that's said to be worth its weight in gold.
- Justified: Fairies can metabolize everything except gold.
- Inverted: Fairies trade in dung.
- Subverted: Alice's poop looks like gold but it isn't.
- Double Subverted: It's still metal, so it's still useful.
- Parodied: Alice poops pyrite, also known as fool's gold. Bob picks up some and tries to use it as gold, and somehow it displaces gold as a commodity.
- Zig-Zagged:
- Some fairies poop gold, others don't.
- Alice's poop, sweat, blood, and drool are valuable, but her vomit, tears, snot, and urine are normal.
- Averted:
- All of Alice's bodily substances are normal.
- There are no fantasy creatures or aliens.
- Nobody Poops, pees, vomits, drools, etc.
- Enforced:
- The writers wanted to have a lesson about materialism, but add some Toilet Humour so it doesn't feel too dry.
- The executives wanted a rendition of The Goose That Laid The Golden Eggs, but the actual producers couldn't hide that Gustaff was a gander.
- Lampshaded: "You poop gold, Alice?! So your body metabolizes everything but gold?!"
- Invoked: The fairy queen puts a spell on Alice to make her poop gold.
- Exploited: Bob gets rich selling Alice's gold poop.
- Defied: The fairy queen puts a spell on Alice to make her poop normally.
- Discussed: "I've heard fairies live here. Do you think they poop gold?"
- Conversed: "Despite what cartoon characters do, I'd never touch anything that was pooped, peed, secreted, or coughed up by someone else, no matter how valuable."
- Implied: Alice is seen pulling her underwear down and squatting, then in the next scene, there's gold under her.
- Deconstructed: Pooping gold hurts Alice.
- Reconstructed: Fairies are immune to gold.
- Played for Laughs: Alice is grossed out that the humans are selling her poop.
- Played for Drama: Some shady characters chase Alice in hopes of getting her golden poop.
