Basic Trope: The logo for a sequel is deliberately made to look ruined compared to the original, usually to emphasis any Darker and Edgier elements to the said sequel.

  • Straight: The logo for the sequel of the movie Alice and Bob, Alice and Bob 2: Trope Harder is dirtier and more scuffed up than the logo for its prequel to reflect its darker nature.
  • Exaggerated: The sequel's logo is made from the logo getting shot with actual bullets, set on fire, smashed by a sledgehammer, and decorated with the corpses of everyone who dies in the movie.
  • Downplayed: The sequel's logo looks a little scuffed up, but isn't strikingly different from its prequel's.
  • Justified: The logo was a museum exhibition that was ruined during the final battle at the museum in ''Alice and Bob''.
  • Inverted: The sequel's logo is more cleaned up than the prequel's logo to reflect it going in a lighter direction than its predecessor.
  • Subverted: The opening credits show a ruined logo, but it changes to a more pristine one.
  • Double Subverted: ...only for that logo to be bombed and to turn into an even more ruined one.
  • Parodied: The logo for the sequel is just piles of ash forming the sequel's title.
  • Zig-Zagged: The opening credits show the sequel's logo in ruins, but then it becomes cleaner, until it's bombed and it becomes more ruined, and then Alice and Bob recreate the logo, making it clean again until it's smashed by a sledgehammer, making it look worse than before.
  • Averted: The sequel's logo remains the same as the previous entry's, regardless of its content.
  • Enforced: The executives demand the sequel's logo to be more ruined because it looks "cool" and "edgy".
  • Invoked: An In-Universe executive wanted "Alice and Bob 2: Trope Harder" to become darker and edgier, come hell or high water, so he paid an artist (our protagonist) to develop the scuffled logo to showcase during a sales pitch.
  • Exploited: ???
  • Defied: Alice and Bob rebuild the logo during the opening credits to make it nicer.
  • Discussed: "The sequel's definitely going to be darker, the logo's all messed up."

  • Conversed: "Don't you think these ruined logos for movies are getting a little played out these days?" "I know, right?"
  • Implied: We do not see the logo ourselves, but characters who see it ask stuff like "What's with all the rust?" "That's supposed to be blood." "That's even worse."
  • Deconstructed: The logo, as well as the rest of the advertisement, tried just a little bit too hard to sell the idea of "Alice and Bob 2: Trope Harder" being a Darker and Edgier situation where Nothing Is the Same Anymore and Anyone Can Die. By which we mean audiences decided they didn't wanted to see it.
  • Reconstructed: When "Alice and Bob 3: The Hunt for the Treasure of Quexhuacaltenango" is advertised, the logo remains full of scuffles and cracks, but this time the color palette is brighter and meant to represent old Incan ruins as part of the Indiana Jones homaging and whatever Darker and Edgier elements carried over from Trope Harder, the advertisement shows Alice and Bob are not taking them lying down. This time the audience is pleased and, most importantly, eager to watch.
