Basic Trope: Exclaiming "No!" multiple times in a row, often very rapidly when faced with something bad.

  • Straight: When Alice is about to knock over the Priceless Ming Vase, she starts exclaiming "No no no no no no no no!"
  • Exaggerated: This continues until it's an Overly Long Gag.

    • Alice opts for just a single Little "No" or Big "NO!" when something bad happens.
  • Subverted: Alice has a stutter, and is really just trying to say "notebooks".
  • Double Subverted: Or, at least, that's the lie she made up to hide her fear.
  • Parodied:
    • Alice is only able to say "No!" several times in a row rapidly.
    • Alice says "No!" at the speed of light.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Alice doesn't repeatedly say "No!"
  • Enforced: ???
  • Lampshaded: "EIGHT nos? This must be really bad!"
