Basic Trope: A character can punch their enemies multiple times in quick succession.
- Straight: Alex can punch foes twenty times in rapid succession.
- Exaggerated: Alex can attack and hit over a million times per-second!
- Downplayed: Alex hits Evulz 5 times in rapid succession.
- Justified:
- Alex learned that a martial artist has to be adaptive, and not overspecialize on single hits.
- Alex is an in-fighter, which means he has to get up close and personal and get as many hits as possible.
- Alex has Super-Speed.
- Inverted: Alex winds up for one massive punch instead
- Subverted: Alex goes to wail on Evulz, but Evulz dodges every punch.
- Double Subverted: However, Alice saw this coming, and decided to hit Evulz at full speed, and Evulz was caught off-guard by this surprise attack.
- Parodied:
- It looks like Alex is doing this, and Evulz laughs it off...until he realises he's now covered in explosives.
- Evulz's head starts bobbing back and forth like one of those small punching bags.
- It's revealed that Alice actually had extra arms attacking at once, instead of just an illusion caused by the attack's speed.
- Alex can punch enough times to cook a chicken.note
- Zig Zagged: It looks like Alex was doing this, and Evulz laughs it off...until he realises he's now covered in explosives. He survives this, and returns the favor with rapid-fire fistcuffs of his own.
- Averted: No one primarily focuses on this type of attack.
- Enforced: ???
- Lampshaded:
- "Wow! That man can punch so fast, I can't even block all of his blows."
- A combo counter shows up on the scene when Alex does his combo.
- Invoked: Alex trains until she can gain enough physical stamina and speed to do this.
- Exploited: Because Alex focuses entirely on offense, he is not ready to defend against enemy strikes. His opponent manages to catch him off-guard.
- Defied: Alex would rather go with single One-Hit Kill Megaton Punches than waste his stamina in assaulting his opponents with a barrage of fists or other parts of his body.
- Discussed: "When I get in rage, I'm going to drown you in punches."
- Conversed: "Alex makes Kenshiro look like a rank amateur when it comes to punch barrages."
- Deconstructed:
- Alex gets tired after a while, as he learns that he doesn't have unlimited stamina.
- Alex does major damage to his own hands whenever he uses this attack.
- Alex's punches deal very little damage, because punching that fast prevents him from putting any strength behind each punch.
- Reconstructed:
- ...But Alex finds a way to extend his barrage of punches by exercising and training to increase his stamina.
- You should see the other guy.
- Alex trains to have Invulnerable Knuckles so his fists don't break on impact.
- Alex's technique relies not on strength, but on overwhelming and disorienting the enemy. Once the enemy's guard is down, Alex finishes them off with a powerful, well-aimed punch to an exposed weak point. For example, he would throw a swift barrage of punches to the opponent's face, forcing them to block them all and get distracted, before he quickly finishes them off with a massive left body blow to the liver.
