Basic Trope: A dream may not be a dream at all.

  • Straight: Alice has a dream where she is being attacked by talking furniture. When she wakes up, she believes it was just a dream and walks out of her bedroom, when her bed suddenly grows a face.
  • Exaggerated: Every dream of Alice's always comes true.
  • Downplayed: Alice's bed moves a bit when she walks out of her bedroom.
  • Justified: Alice has a curse placed on her which causes her dreams to come true.
  • Inverted: A bunch of talking furniture attacks Alice in real life, but then she suddenly wakes up in her bedroom. Alice is convinced the talking furniture was just a dream.
  • Subverted: It turns out Bob quickly painted a face on the bed when Alice was not looking to prank her.
  • Double Subverted: But then Alice's desk grows a face when Bob leaves Alice's bedroom.
  • Parodied: Every piece of furniture in Alice's house grows a face and limbs. Alice doesn't notice this.
  • Zig-Zagged: ???
  • Averted: Alice's dreams don't come true.
  • Enforced: The creator had no ideas for a Twist Ending, and then settled on this kind of ending.
  • Lampshaded: "I have a strange feeling that my dream I had last night may not be a dream at all."
  • Invoked: ???

  • Discussed: "Maybe my dream might come true tomorrow, just like these twist endings in these children's movies."
  • Conversed: "Woah, that dream came true! It's like these kids' movies!"
