Basic Trope: A food item that is incredibly unhealthy.

  • Straight: At the Death Wish Diner, Bob orders a Heart Attack Pizza Burger, which is a gigantic burger with two massive meat lover's pizzas serving as the buns.
  • Exaggerated:
  • Downplayed: The Heart Attack Burger features some extra toppings than normal, but not outlandish (i.e. extra bacon, all-meat, extra condiments).
  • Justified:
    • Bob is The Hedonist, and fully subscribes to the mantra that "You only live once", so he views the Heart Attack Pizza Burger as a once in a lifetime experience.
    • Death Wish Diner is a booth at the State Fair. Bob's been waiting all year for it, and went hungry for two days to make enough room.
    • In Bob's day and age, "broodje gezond" was thought to be a healthy sandwich (hence the name), but we now know better.
  • Inverted: At the Paleo Palace, Bob orders a steak with a side of vegetables and a sweet potato.
  • Subverted:
    • Bob only has a small portion of the Heart Attack Pizza Burger, and shares the rest of it with his friends, so they all have a reasonable amount of calories.
    • Death Wish Diner's schtick is that it's supposedly massively unhealthy with Names to Run Away from Really Fast, but they're not all that big, or unhealthy for that matter; similar to Texas Roadhouse offering "Roadkill" on the menu.
  • Double Subverted:
    • Bob and all of his friends then each order the Triple-Deep-Fried Stroke-Inducing Bacon Burrito with a side of High-Fat Artery-Clogging Cheese Sauce to dip them in.
    • However the Death Wish Dinner's Mega Meal Challenge, the "Heart Attack Pizza", has an amount of calories heavy enough that a lawyer friend of the owner suggested, in the untmost seriousness, to have customers sign liability waivers before eating it just to be very damned sure to head off any potential Frivolous Lawsuit.
  • Parodied:
  • Zig-Zagged: Bob takes one bite of the Heart Attack Pizza Burger, and spits it out in disgust.
  • Averted: Nothing so monstrously bad for one's health is shown.
  • Enforced: "This episode of Alice and Bob is supposed to warn against unhealthy eating, so let's make the unhealthy food as unhealthy as possible!"
  • Lampshaded: "The Heart Attack Pizza Burger: the burger so deliciously unhealthy you'll die happy!"
  • Invoked: Bob seeks to combine all his favorite junk foods into a single food item to eat at once.
  • Exploited: Bon Jasso, owner of the Death Wish Diner, forces critics of his restaurant to eat an entire Heart Attack Pizza Burger, almost certainly leading to their death. If they somehow survive that, he brings in the Burger Mortis (see Exaggerated #2).
  • Defied:
    • Waiter: "Might I recommend the Heart Attack Pizza Burger, sir?"
    • Bob: "NO WAY! I'm not putting that junk in my body!"
  • Discussed: Bob is at the State Fair with his friends, and they pass a booth offering the Heart Attack Pizza Burger. One of them orders it, and the rest debate whether they'd ever want to try it and what effect it might have on their lifespan.
  • Conversed: Bob watches a show which has a character eat Heart Attack Pizza Burgers (among other examples of this trope) until they get sick, delivering a lesson in healthy eating. Bob remarks that the junk food they showed is so far beyond what one would normally see in Real Life that it's hard to take the message seriously.
  • Implied: At one point in the episode, Bob is seen going into the Death Wish Diner. Later on in the episode, the headline "Man Has Heart Attack at Local Diner" appears on the news.
  • Deconstructed: The Death Wish Diner's extremely unhealthy food eventually hospitalizes Bob and claims the life of several other patrons, and once word gets around that the diner's food is deathly unhealthy, it is quickly shut down.
  • Reconstructed: Like the Heart Attack Grill, this becomes a gimmick. Obese patrons eat free, it offers Bottomless Fries, the smallest thing on the menu needs to be served on a plate 2 feet in diameter, and certain meals (especially the "Homer (Simpson) Destroyer" Challenge) require the customer to sign waivers.
  • Played for Drama: Bob has been Driven to Suicide, and eats a Heart Attack Pizza Burger in hopes of ending himself in a relatively painless way.
  • Played for Horror: The Death Wish Diner is a diner that specializes in ludicrously unhealthy yet extremely tasty and addictive foods. People who eat at the place even once soon become addicted to the food, and eventually become so fat and out-of-shape that they die mid-meal. The bodies are then quickly dragged off to the diner's factory, where their meat is harvested and put into the burgers the diner sells.
