Basic Trope Description: People would rather have sex with virgins.
- Straight: Bob has two girls he wants to have sex with: Alice and Charlene. He decides to choose Alice over Charlene, since she is a virgin.
- Exaggerated: Bob has Alice and Charlene as options to have sex with. He chooses Alice since she doesn't even know what sex is, while Charlene is a prostitute and a sex addict.
- Downplayed: Alice and Charlene both had sex before. Alice, nevertheless, is still a Technical Virgin, so Bob chooses her to have sex with.
- Justified:
- Double Standard
- Bob Can't Take Criticism, especially not in bed.
- Bob is sick and believes in Virgin Power: he thinks that sex with Alice can heal him magically.
- Gender-Inverted: Alice has the choice between two sex partners: Bob and Charlie. She chooses Bob because he never had sex before.
- Inverted: Bob chooses Charlene to have sex with, since she already had sex and will be experienced.
- Subverted: Bob goes to bed with Alice because he thinks that she is a virgin, but she turns out to be only a Technical Virgin.
- Double Subverted: This makes Bob go and leave her alone to sleep with Denise, a factual virgin, instead.
- Enforced:
- The author believes that Sex Is Evil and therefore, virginity is desirable.
- The author is setting up a Deconstruction of either Sex Is Good or Sex Is Evil.
- Averted: Virginity is no question when people choose a sex partner.
- Parodied: Bob chooses the virgin Alice to have sex with because he Can't Take Criticism.
- Zigzagged: Bob wants to have sex with a virgin, but is also fine with a Technical Virgin. Alex only wants virgins, and Pat only wants sexually-experienced partners.
